If you'll recall, the 2007 movie line did not have scouts either (they were effectively replaced by the Real Gear stuff, which I really don't classify as "traditional scouts"), nor did Animated (Activators took that pricepoint).

So I don't think scouts are "screwed" but clearly Hasbro is trying some new stuff in that price range with the support of the movie promotion. More than likely, we'll be getting "traditional" scouts next year.

Aren't the new HA figures supposed to be scout class?

Mainline/"normal" Scouts are over, for the foreseeable future, once RTS ends. Cyberverse Commanders are sorta Scout-ish sized, but are meant to be in-scale with the Legion figures, while the HA Basics are also about Scout-ish sized, but are more like PCC 2-packs for the HA gimmick.

It's not like we'll never see "normal" Scout class figures again. TFP's line could potentially bring them back, or who knows, maybe the Classics line after Generations will bring them back into the picture. We'll just have to wait and see.

Kinda hard to justify scouts when the DOTM deluxes aren't much larger.

No. Scout will always live on. Some lines just don't have room for it.

Between that and the prices, I agree completely. It'd be different if the scouts were actually any good, but I'm yet to see one that can keep my interest for more than a day or three.

Sadly I have to disagree with Sb,there were 5 Superb scouts in ROTF and they were,Sky Stalker,Ransack,Ransacks repaint of the Red Baron plane,Depth Charge, and the red blue and white motorcycle forgot his name.To me those were the best scouts ever.Later.

RotF scouts were absolutely awesome, and they were some of the first figures that we could get to seeof that line.
But yes, the new human alliance toys seem to be the heirs of the scout class.

Granted there is overlap, but to me, "Traditional Scouts" are basically the "smaller than deluxe" toys that offered similar alt modes (cars, planes, etc). Real Gears were only "electronic gadgets".

Scouts were awesome. Pocket sized but fully formed transformers. Some of my favourite figs ever. Hope they come back soon.

Cyberverse Commanders look like fun, and it's a good idea, but they don't seem like they're on quite the same level.

Scouts will probably come back, just like the Classics series toys.

Like Ultra Class, I don't think there's really any guarantee that they will. I could see them continuing with Cyberverse for a good while, it's a really strong concept, but that doesn't leave much room for regular scouts. We'll see.

Well, they're not dead yet, Windcharger is out in the UK but not the rest of the world as yet and Rumble hasn't been seen anywhere as far as I'm aware.

Tomy are releasing Rumble and Frenzy at the voyager price point but I've elected to skip that. I'm not paying UK voyager price for a scout.
