The movie trilogy line is a seperate line i belive. I think the robots in disguise line is just the name fore the prime line. Part is prolly due to confusion since when i called tru before asking for TF Prime first edition the employee was not a transformers fan thought i was looking for an optimus prime figure.

Feel free to correct if i am wrong!

We should see some line info for the UK Toyfair by January and then more info from other shows including the New York one further into 2012.

Hasbro have managed to keep additional stuff fairly well under wraps this time (other than some of the items that ship the first and second quarters of 2012).

Huh, hadn't seen that yet. Thanks. Though I'm kinda bummed out that we aren't getting any more of that beautiful packaging the the First Editions were packed in.

Well, I think Hasbro's mindset is that fans know it's Prime stuff and kids don't care about the packaging. But, yeah. Still liking the original packing a lot better.

I too think it's weird that Prime figs are getting released in packaging called "Robots in Disguise". I mean, why not keep Prime in "Prime" packaging and save new Classics-verse (and whatever else) stuff for this new "RID" packaging? I just don't get this constant renaming every few months. Classics, Universe, Generations, Reveal The Shield, Hunt For The Deceptions, Prime, Robots in Disguise (yet again), etc... it's an f'ing nightmare for collectors sometimes.

Having said that, I really DO like this packaging design style. Would have been a nice companion to the blue/whie/silver Prime packaging on shelves imo.

Again i think its like i said. Call a store and ask for transformers prime they think you mean Optimus. Robots in disguise does not create that confusion.

Maybe "Robots in Disguise" is being used as an overall look/brand for all of the non-movie stuff next year. They could slip some Classics-type stuff in there without having a ridiculous number of skus.

I have a feeling that Movie, Classics and TF Prime toys are going to be all in the same line.

TF Prime doesn't have many characters so instead of filling it with OS characters they will plump it up with Generations and Movie stuff. This will also allow them to fill scout, voyager, ultra and leader classes with Classics figures.

Although I would thoroughly wish we got the Prime packaging for TFPrime stuff, the RID packaging is nice. I just hope that the stupid movie trilogy line doesn't fill up the wall of pegs while the Prime(RID, whatever) sits on it's 4 lonesome pegs at the end. It'd be nice if Hasbro just killed the movie stuff for a year or 2.

I read somewhere that it's rumored the FOC stuff is supposed to be a part of the Prime/RID line as well... There's an awful lot of stuff within WFC & FOC designes they can make. Especially if they come out with all 3 seekers within the same year. Nice repaint fix for Hasbro, with the usual possible Optimus > Ultra Magnus repaint. So there is potential for Prime to be in it's own line. I'm just hoping (again, like my other post) that movie stuff doesn't become the big deal in stores.

That's what I keep thinking, that it is the overall tag line for 2012. There could still be a TF: Prime logo up top, to be honest. If I recall correctly, a small preview was shown during the Investors Day event slideshow. The images should be around somewhere on the front page history.

I still keep thinking that the movie trilogy thing is merely the second half of the DOTM line, just like Allspark Power and NEST Global Alliance were before it.

As for this packaging, I personally don't really care as I wouldn't be saving it. I wouldn't save the First Edition packaging either.

That said, it'll be very nice to finally see something other than DOTM packaging with a very light sprinkle of Generations.

I'm hoping the packaging's red for Autobots and purple or blue for Decepticons to differentiate the two factions a bit more but that does look good.
