To tell you the truth after reading Defiance 4 I like this origin a lot more than the Primus/Unicron stuff. I hope this is the definite origin.

Yea I don't ever see anything being the definite anything in Transformers. Hasbro is the type to worry about stepping on someone's toes so if they ever said something was definite it would have part of the people who buy their products all upset that what they liked wasn't the definite. Plus they like to keep the door open to maybe changing things yet again somewhere down the road.

The new origin could be something that we'd see used again and again down the road but they will never out and out call it definite origin no matter how many times they use it.

Although fans get to chose what they want as definite so if you want to call it your definite origin of Transformers then that works.

I see nothing that says The Allspark is not the physical form of Primus in that part of the Multiverse. Instead of becoming cybertron, he became the allspark and gave life to a passing asteroid which became cybertron.

We live in a multiverse, every shard of the franchise is simply another incarnation of Primus in some way.

From my perspective, yes - for a while, anyway. If the next cartoon series is indeed movieverse, it will mean Hasbro is REALLY embracing the movieverse as the next longstanding incarnation for TFs.

A blockbuster movie series + record shattering toyline sales + a cartoon series + comics, novels, merchandise, etc... It would seem foolish to NOT make a 5-10 year plan on the back of that success, with corresponding fiction retcons as needed.

    Fridge Logic:

If the Allspark turned raw materials from the planetoid into the "Unnamed Dimension Shifters" and the Transformers...

What exactly did it do to the Planet itself? Why would the small "shards" come to life, but the main bulk just get shiny and pointy?

I also wondered if Hasbro was ever going to try and centralize the canon of the TF.

I doubt it. Having all the multiple realities existing in parallell allows anyone at any time to go back and re-launch a line. I agree with the other comments -- I quite like this interpretation of the TF origin story.

Transformers is fiction so I guess we as fans are free to choose which origin we believe in.

Gobotron was Primus trying an organic life form, Unicron (who is singular and shifts realities) crashed into Gobotron before he manifested his robotic form and destroyed the atmosphere forcing the Cybertronians on Gobotron to take robotic bodies to survive.

Even the 'Allspark cube making life from the ground' follows the PRIMUS Multiverse origin. Primus was thrust into infinite physical realms and every one is different but similar to try to protect his power. The Movie Universe it was the allspark, Which fit in with the original 13 and all that jazz perfectly.

And the nice thing about the Multiverse is Unicron can technically drop in at any time, or never show up ever as there is a single Unicron and infinite Primuses.

I like the Allspark much better as an origin than the G1 Quintessons...but in theory the Allspark could very well be Primus. It's just whatever you wanna name the thing.
