In Jazz's llevel, just after they see the tower activate, there's a burning hatch to the right and it gives a bunch of letters. Is that a special code for something or an Easter Egg referencing something?

 

Now I have to go back to that and pay attention.

 

Those Roman Numerals translate into November 4 1984, which was the date that More than Meets the Eye part 1, the first episode of G1 was aired. A historic date.

I think it's kinda dumb to make an easter egg require translation.  

 

It's only Roman Numerals, they're not that hard.

 

I find it kinda dumb for Roman Numerals to be on Cybertron   Maybe that hatch was from ancient Rome sending the Autobots a message

The BIGGEST failing of a lot of game developers...and players...is that they assume gamers are dumb. Well...they really aren't. We have a lot of stupid people who play games, sure, but there's a ton of smart people who have the skills to decode stuff like this.

It's a clever way of putting in a reference or fan homage, without being ham handed with it.
