I noticed the light for power on my laptop was blinking last night, so I turned on my laptop and discovered that there is zero power left in my battery (reads 0%) and all the power are taken directly from the cable. Is there a way for me to isolate the source of the problem? I don't want to buy another battery until I am absolute sure I need a new one. Thanks.

Is the battery light still blinking? It sure sounds as if the battery needs to be replaced.

If it's the one with an icon that looks like lightning, then yeah but it's blinking constantly. Sigh and I only had this laptop for about 3 years.

Yup, you should consider replacing that battery.

Have you pulled and felt the battery? Is it hot?
