Wow, that's 6 zeroes too many. So this "masterpiece" is worth a million bucks, especially since it was "sighned" by this Victoria-whatshernameagain?

    Here's what I asked her:

Hello, I was wondering if any of your other work has ever been featured at galleries? If so, I'd appreciate having a link. For an asking price that high, I would naturally assume that your work has been featured on a professional level. Thanks.

It'll be interesting to see what type of response I get, lol.

Most likely it is a commission peice that is for one person. They bid a million and they win then they pay whatever through a different system and the artist has a record of the purchase. Happens often.

Edit: (reads description) or she's and idiot.

Oh and if you are interested in any other Million dollar art work:

EDIT AGAIN: Also it is spelled "Signed". Jesus :mad

Here is her reply, I'm honestly surprised at her relatively calm tone:

The asking price is only to get people to look at the art. i listed the painting for my asking price of 75.00 and no one even looked at it. i dont expect anyone to pay that price that is why i offer the offer option on the auction. i do have my art displayed on the web if you would like a link to it i can send that over. i have won a few shows in and around my area but nothing really big as of yet but working on it.

I like how it being sighned is a selling point. Sure the drawing may be only worth 30 bucks but the random nobody sighnature brings the value to a million. Plus don't all artists sighn their crap?

Oh come on - she's only using the price point to attract attention. She wants people to look at her work, and if she put a reasonable price, no one would care.

It worked - we're looking at it! She's managed to generate more interest than she would otherwise get. Heck, someone might offer her $50 for it, and she'll probably take it.

It's not worth a million bucks, but a great marketing strategy.

It's just an "ad" auction. Probably no intent to sell and just wants to get attention. Notice all the self promotion in the description?
