When Sam is being pinned to the hood of a car, we see the spindly fingertips consistent with all decepticons. And that coupled with the fact that the previous shot is Starscream towering above him makes you think, "Well, it's Starscream, duh!" But did anyone else notice how the legs, (at least I think they're legs) on the right side of the screen, look like they're sporting tank tread?

Those legs, if they are legs, look like they belong to Megatron's new alt mode.

 

I agree. I think it's Megatron pinning Sam down. The tank treaded feet give it away.

It's definitely Megatron. I at first thought it was Starscream, but that is clearly not his hand. That, combined with the fact you can see his leg, and the fact he's been on the packaging of other toys, imo, confirms he'll be in the movie. It'll be interesting to see what he does to Starscream.

 

It's Megatron. Totally different scene than Starscreams. Just look at the environment. And the tank tread. And the hand. And the tank tread foot kicking Optimus' face right off.

I'd also guess that this is how they wrote Shia's hand injury into the script... when get gets pinned down like that.

 

I really think it's the same scene, looks like a junkyard or something in both scenes and like I said in another thread: I think Sam is attacked by Starscream first and Megatron comes and suprises both of them (because they both thought he was dead up to that point), damages Starscream and then decides he'll take revenge on Sam for "killing" him. It looks kinda like he's hurting Sam's arms so I'm guessing this is the point where they wrote in Shia's hand injury by having Megatron break it or something...

Having seen the trailer 4 times already, I thought it was Starscream pinning Sam down, but... it could very well be Megatron, getting his revenge for what Sam did to him at the end of the first movie.

 

Maybe Megs returns to life in his TF1 mode...and after encountering the Fallen he pledges his loyalty and gets upgraded to Galvatron... maybe that's why Bay said no Megatron.

 

Agreed, I think that's why he's all misinformation on everything else but he came out, in empire of all places and said "NO Megatron" because in the back of his mind he was thinking about Galvatron...and it's kinda backfired don't you think?

The toy package for his FAB said 'Megatron'. Bay was just in an akward position and had to lie. Still, I'm quite curious whether Starscream and Megatron are working together to torture Sam or not.

Definately but do you really think they'll pass up an opportunity to squeeze out another figure to sell?  

I think he'll be Galvatron for that reason if nothing else...

 

every other galvatron's had different colours or something plus megatron's more well known

 

But the whole tank/cannon thing kinda leans towards it being Galvatron. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.
