No, it sadly isn't, and probably won't be.

    Nope.
I'd imagine with Hasbro breaking off their contract with CN to go make their own channel with Discovery, we probably won't see it happen for awhile. As I understand it, CN still holds the rights for the actual show.

    Well that sucks.
I'd even be willing to shell out some money for a box set...
    even if I already have seasons 1 & 2.

I'd prefer an official release with package artwork and all.

I'm sure when the CN rights expire, Shout Factory or some other company will release the whole series. On an unrelated note, what is Shout Factory waiting for in terms of re-releasing the Beast Wars DVDs? I had to sell mine and don't feel like paying $130 to get them again.

Ditto, I'd like something to put next to my G1 boxset. Besides, aren't some of the names changed in Takara?

As well as slight modifications to the characters, removed footage and the fact that every last word is in a GD language I don't speak or understand.

So, yeah, I'm hoping somewhere down the road they get released here, in English.

I've heard rumors that the best way to get Transformers Animated Season 3 on DVD released, is to shoot a snazzy note to Hasbro. If this is true, I was contemplating typing such a letter up all nice and properly, and then shoving it up for grabs here, for anyone who happened to be interested. I'm just kind of antsy and not so sure if anyone would want to copy and paste and give it a go.

Don't worry about that: if they do the same thing with the Japanese Beast Wars DVD releases, that means that English language version will come with it.

Except Beast Wars didn't have footage cut from its TV airing, so we're looking at Japanese language-only DVDs.

As for getting season 3: Did we ever get Robots in Disguise on DVD in the US? No? Then don't get your hopes up. :/

That is so missing the point.

If you want Hasbro to know you really do care, make it a personalised letter, not a copy/pasted letter or petitions. Write yourself and snail-mail it to show a real person who really wants it sent it. Online petitions and emails are easy to fake.

I don't think Hasbro is just sitting on season three, deciding not to release it. I'm thinking we don't have the third DVD because of legal issues with who actually owns the show itself. You'd probably want to actually send your letters to Cartoon Network, instead.

Handled by Disney UK, whereas Animated was distributed the same way worldwide.

Season 3 is never coming to DVD unless someone decides to pony up the money for the franchise rights from Cartoon Network, I'm willing to put money on that.

I'm not thinking online petition at all--I very much agree that they don't do any good. What I was thinking, was typing up a few different options, where those interested could then copy and paste and plug in their own information, and mail it to Hasbro. And so I fail to see how that's missing the point at all.

I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure Derrick J. Wyatt said quite some time ago (on formspring), that that's the best bets the fans have to making season 3 a reality--contacting Hasbro and letting them know we'd like it released.
