I display my ROTF Armorhide with my Hounds because he just looks like he was meant to be Hound. Was this on purpose or am I just imagining it.

Probably, but he is a repaint of Landmine from the first movie line.

What about Cybertron & TFTM hardtop? It's just your imagination. Hound's colors are pretty standard military so you're going to need more then that to validate it being a Hound homage.

Standard military, but not standard Autobot.

The red paint in the knee region and the square-ish head that goes along with the military colors.

My opinion is that if he was meant to be a homage to hound some of it would have been reflected in his bio.

Didn't notice the red paint. That's close. They couldn't fit in yellow stripes on his arms and roof? =P I guess it just depends on what you consider an homage.

ROTF Dead End homages Detour and Wildrider. There's no hint of either of them in his bio.

he is close enough. i had high hopes that hound will be in tf3 but there is a good chance he is not. unless he is a wrecker for some weird reason.

That means you don't see a lot of green, white, and black Autobots.

While I personally don't think so, I think that is a damn good catch.

For all we know Hasbro may have intended to name him Hound. It wouldn't be the first time a figure was renamed, but retained an obvious homage to the original intended name.

Scout class Dead End from ROTF was originally intended to be Detour. His alt-mode is obviously meant to evoke that name.

The colors do make him look like a good fit, but that's as far as the hound simulairities go for me. The eyes shouldn't be red, and the green could be a shade brighter like the Alternator.

I bought the figure anyway because the mold kicks so much ass. It also looks good with the original Movie Landmine.

Eh, I can see the resemblance, but I wouldn't call it a straight up homage. More of a referencing. If his entire altmode was the same color as his thighs and he had yellow stripes and stars on his doors, I could say yea, homage. But really, it's just that he's supposed to be just another military bot.

    You don't like hockey-mask robot?

I think the deco may be Hound-inspired.

WOW, I never thought of ROTF Deluxe Armorhide as Hound! :inquisiti

    Point well made, unmc2001! :thumb

Here is a plan I made up for turning ROTF Deluxe Armorhide into ROTF (or HFTD) Deluxe Hound:

    1. Paint the barrel of his gun in silver.

    2. Paint or color dye his lower legs in black.

    3. Paint the red on his arms in yellow.

    4. Paint around his hood/collar where "DEFENSE" is written in yellow as well.

    5. Paint the piping around his front and rear headlights in dark, metallic paint.

    6. Give him a new, repainted-in-green n' white head or modify his original head with a little more white or silver on his mouth or face and paint his eyes in blue to make him look less like 2007 Movie Deluxe Landmine.

    7. Place white or silver sticker stars on the angled panels on the front of his hood.

    8. Lastly, use a soldering iron with razor blade to cut/separate each of his black fingers at the knuckles so they can each move independently.

I'm a goalie fan. Have been and always will be, but if they are gonna do a goalie mask head, do the early 80's Grant Fuhr mask. Not a Jacques Plante replica. :lol
