I'm starting to think that melee in War for Cybertron got nerfed up.
At LEAST, and I mean LEAST, 30 times TODAY, I got ONE-HIT-KILLED by ONE melee when I had FULL HEALTH.

Has anyone else had this problem?

 

They don't update the game anymore. The new one's on the way. haha So unless you're always a jet and the Leader is perked right and warcryed and smacked you it's not possible. ps. nerfed implies that it's been weakened, like a nerf gun.

 

There are some places where melee does double damage. If you're standing on an incline and your opponent is on higher ground, you may take double damage. At least, I think this is how the critical melee attacks work.

 

If anything, melee got buffed. Nerfing is when something gets toned down or weakened.

 

My mistake, I thought it just means messed up.  

But I DEFINITELY have been one-hit killed by opposing scouts many times, only recently, only as a scientist.

Melee + Backstab perk + Uncloak damage bonus = Dead Scientist

Its always been like that. Thats why you'll always see scouts derping out and trying to get as close as possible while strafing around to try and get behind someone.

Playing Scout in WFC was like playing as a really terrible Spy in TF2. Complete with facestabs being counted as backstabs out the ass.

 

Also, sometimes, I would fly up to an enemy Scientist with full health, unleash EMP Shotgun and a melee, and before I could do any of that, *whack* *dead*

 

I believe that Backstab & the damage bonus perk are in the same category. Anyway I never find scientists as a threat. There easily taken out with any class. The scouts easy to use when you know how.

Seriously though, I think you'll find that the EMP Shotgun is better than a melee with a scientist.

 

Yeah the Scientist with the EMP shotgun was ridiculous. Especially if you had even the slightest bit of lag on your side. Fly up, transform, unload both shots and fly away before their screen even shows them anywhere near you.

I loved doing that. It was such a cheap tactic but it was damn near unbeatable thanks to the crap p2p connections.

But er, with the Scout wasnt the de-cloak damage buff tied to the ability, not a skill? I don't use Scout so I can't say for sure.

 

Well if you are playing as a Scientist or Scout that's not surprising.

 

I know that firsthand, I rarely go into battle without it. I love landing behind people, "PEW PEW, WHACK" and then pretty much anything dies.

If you use the Scientist well and know exactly when you should retreat, or are just good at dodging, the scientist is really hard to kill.

Speaking of crap connections, they better fix it for FOC.
Yes, it is tied to the ability.
Also, I find that landing behind someone, melee and then two EMP shots, and then pretty much everything drops dead. If it doesn't, you can just throw in a shockwave/turret/drain. If it's not charged I would just switch to the next weapon and throw in another few shots or just melee again.

 

i felt this yesterday, but it wasn't a scout that did it.
