way too big, he towers over two bots standing on shoulders, so no go for me

 

In alt-mode, T-Rexes were round about 4 metres at the hip, the maximum legal height for a lorry is 4.9 metres, Voyager Classics Optimus Prime's wind vane reaches to the middle of MP Grimmy's hip, and the G3 trailer is just above his hip. Therefore I deduce that Masterpiece Grimlock is in absolutely prefect scale with my Autobot's.  

 

Dino mode fits the best in scale out of the two modes. He's a T-rex, his is supposed to be bigger than a car 

 

I don't actually have a good sense of how large the Dinobots are supposed to be, although I seem to recall them towering over the Autobots in the cartoon (at least, before season 3). My personal feeling is MP Grimlock is a little too big; Ultra class would probably more appropriate.

 

To me, he is just too big. I would love to think that he was that big in the show, but I just stick with animated grimlock in my classics display. Perfect scale for me.

 

That would be uber awesome!

 

Masterpieces and the Alternators seem to scale better together (in robot mode) than classics. In G-1 the general Autobot was smaller than Optimus Prime, however Prime was smaller than Grimlock so.....maybe.
