I have thought about buying him since he came out. I lost most interest in the movie style figures though. However, I still like the Sentinel Prime figure but have been on the fence about it. They basically disappeared from retail a while ago but I noticed that retailers got in new shipments of him a couple weeks ago so it once again piqued my interest. Now that I took time to think about it, it appears they have once again dried up online. I did find a site with him in stock for about $60 plus shipping.

My question is, how good of a figure is he? Is he worth the $60? I just don't want to do the same thing I did with MP Roddy. I bought him for $60 on sale at TRU.com and quite frankly, Roddy was a disappointment to me. What do you guys think?

I quite like the toy, but IMO, it's less worth $60 than Roddy.

Is that really your only option in terms of acquiring it?

I bought it in a local store for $80 T_T (and that was with a discount)

I love him though, no regrets. It's a great figure if you enjoy complex toys. Very well designed all around.

I think he is probably enough better than the voyager toy to warrant the 60 purchase if u want a sentinel movie figure, yeah.

He should be on clearance any day now. Most Walmarts and Targets by me have him on the end cap with all of the other clearance stuff. I wouldn't say he's worth $60. I think I paid $30-$35 with a coupon a while back. I'm happy with that price.

I've seen it at Walmart for $45 or so recently, so I suspect that SP may still be stocked in some stores and at a good price as well.

If you're based in the States, check your state Sightings thread here and see if anyone somewhat local has spotted a Sentinel on the shelves (or hell, even has one of their own they're willing to sell for less than $60). It's a good figure but I wouldn't recommend shelling out $60 for it now unless you're an overseas collector and that's your only option.

You could also check Junkion and see if anyone's selling one loose for cheap.

Worth 60 bucks? Probably not. The 45 or whatever he MSRPs for is the most I'd pay for him. Not too bad of a figure but stability issues in standing really kill it for me.

I'm sure you could get a fellow board member to find you one for less than that. Shipping included.

He's probably my favorite DotM toy. I just paid $130 for deluxe Leadfoot and Wheeljack, so IMO Sentinel's worth $60.

By the way he stands perfectly fine if you use the legs and feet correctly. He can even support a fair amount of action poses - more than ROTF leader Prime. But just like Prime, i find thet he is way better just standing there, looking awesome and stuff.

Thank you all for the advice. The reason I was asking about the price is because i was going to use bill me later and that forces me to use an online retailer. That way I can save the spare money for Prime stuff so I'll have to think about what I will do here.

I was wondering how articulated and poseable he is. I have watched some review videos but it's hard to tell unless you have him in hand or hear it from others. Again, Thank you all.

He's top heavy. Not as much fun to pose so I barely play with it. Articulation is comparable to ROTF Prime.

He is more articulated than ROTF Prime, but does require more care. His legs offer more range of movement but you have to learn how to use his feet, and leg angle. It's real simple stuff though, anyone can do it.

I had the opportunity to grab him at closer to $30 (sale plus coupons).

I bought him transformed and promptly returned him (like he was never opened for those who care).

He's just a fiddly-panel tabbing mess IMHO, and this from a gyu who loves RotF Leader Prmie.

I saw the price jump on amazon and other places, but I JUST picked Leader Sentinel up in-store at TRU for $44. Even as recently as last weekend I still see him there and for that price. If you want him, look around and maybe you'll get lucky.
