What're we comparing them to? I mean, certain characters like Lockdown are gonna be bigger than the norm, while guys like Skullgrin I guess are gonna be a little smaller. Along with that, I can honestly say that Transformers in general seem a little smaller to me than they used to, but I'm pretty sure a lot of that has to do with the fact that I'm older than when I was in the 90's, as well as that we're seeing a lot of really large figures as well.

For example, of course Jazz is gonna look small when we've got Masterpiece & Leader class stuff running around, and when we're not 10 years anymore & comparing them to Hot Wheel's cars.

... or you know, maybe they really are getting smaller. I don't have enough new stuff to really judge as a whole.

The only one that seems Slightly smaller then average to me is Thunderwing and that's because he is. But doesn't bother me.

Tracks is short due to his transformation scheme (and Wheeljack is shorter yet) but their car mode is one of the biggest... and Blurr/Drift is like one of the biggest deluxes ever.

I wouldn't say Drift is one of the biggest. Hes just got denser chunky plastic feel figures like in the Unicron Trilogy had that made them feel bigger.

part count is a bigger factor in toy cost then actual size

Thunderwing ties up alot of plastic in the drone piece and two missle firing guns

That is the same problem with DOTM toys.

They are taking tooling costs away from the figure to make giant retarded weapons.

Warpath's 'bot mode is pretty average sized for a Deluxe but his alt mode is tiny!!! Likewise RtS Bumblebee has a pretty big alt mode but his robot is short and chunky.

I'd say no, size wise is pretty stable at the moment (DOTM not relevant yet obviously) but I remember when Classics first came out and everyone went insane at how small Rodimus was, even this weapons peg wasn't standard.

Thing is, his smaller stature worked out well with the Protector set.

Not saying that in a bad way. By nature of Warpath's transformation one mode is going to end up small. Just sayin' as response to the OP that size is going to be very relative depending on what modes you see 'em in. BB has a big alt mode, Warpath has a small alt mode. BB has a smaller 'bot mode than Warpath, while Warpath is about that average size.

My newest figures Jazz and Scourge are larger than WFC Prime, Hot Rod and Galvatron. Cyclonus is the largest. So I don't think they are getting smaller.

Battle Blade Bumblebee is the largest deluxe I own aside from Lockdown. He's surprisingly tall.

I think they are getting a little smaller when compared to deluxes from Armada and Energon and even some from Cyberton.

I don't have other lines handy to do a side by side with, but I don't think so. They vary a bit- Wheeljack is short, Kup and Cyclonus are quite tall.

I do think that the amount of plastic may have been distributed more carefully throughout the figure to allow in the advance in engineering possible in the toys today.

I don't know, I think for the most part they've been staying within that Deluxe Bubble. Thunderwing may be small but he's absolutely worth his salt as a deluxe figure as much as Kup is.
