    well, ummm ... yeah.

it's basic economics to assume that when a feasible substitute is available, market prices adjust to the competition.

on top of it, that Swoop has nasty chrome wear.

One auction does not indicate a trend.

Indeed. More reissues are better, whether by Hasbro/Takara or not.

    Ebay:
it is a KO effect. Why would you pay top dollar for "Original G-1" figure when you can check to see for yourself. A lot of people have been burned by the KOs. Look at Prime and the overall value of sealed G-1 primes. The KOs were great for me because I only had the different recent reissues of Prime and those have sky rocketed because those packages were not Knocked off.

Paying over $100 for Swoop is what's no fun. I'm glad I got mine in 1998 for $25. I feel for you guys trying to buy him today.

    Again, I won this Swoop:

    http://cgi.ebay.com/Transformers-G1-Swoop-With-5-Accessories_W0QQitemZ150118452176QQihZ005QQcategoryZ4696QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

The chrome is in excellent condition, with little to no wear at all. The joints are tight, and the paint looks great! I've been watching G1 Swoop's for a while too, I'm glad I came upon this auction when I did. Good luck.

On a side note, I won a near-complete G1 Wheeljack a couple of weeks ago (everything except instructions, and one missile) for about the same price. To put this in to perspective, a couple of others that I was watching that same week ended for ~$140. You just have to be patient.

Agreed...that is the most important thing on eBay. I see TRU re-issue Soundwaves going for over $50+shipping all the time. I bought one today with a BIN of $40 and free shipping.

Is the quality of the KO Swoop good? I don't support KOs but if Hasbro and TakaraTomy isn't going to reissue him...and the KO's quality is good...why not pick the KO up? I heard that the quality of the KO G1 Optimus was also decent...is it true?

Cheaper Swoop = good news for me. I just won a complete Sludge for $41, and Swoop is the last remaining Dinobot I need.

Details on the quality of the Prime & Swoop KOs; I did a writeup on mine in there when I got it. It's nice, but it can need a lot of work.

Thanks for the write-up, Draven. I haven't read the entire thread yet but from what I see, it seems that the quality of the KOs aren't good at all...without "corrective" action...

I know what you mean, because I won a figure from the same guy and his figure is in Awesome condition! Does your swoop have any sort of paintwear?

Is it just me or seems swoop is missing all the stickers?(However swoop repro stickers is cheap though, only $5)

What's the condition on your wheeljack?

If you didnt follow ebay back in the day before reissues, autobot cars easily fetched over $100. I am talking Jazz, prowl, bluestreak, sunstreaker, sideswipe, (in at least c-8 condition) etc. Except maybe trailbreaker, ironhide and ratchet. Predakings went over $500 mint loose-metal. It was crazy.

You know, more reissues will probably come out if the movie is a hit.
