Anyone else see that? I'd use him as a classics version, but he's too small compared to MP Grimlock for my collection. Shame, cause I think its pretty close lol.

I just prefer to think of him as Slag's dumber baby or little brother. Hard to believe that one could be dumber than Slag but it amuses me

Other than the fact that they both have Ceratopsian alt-modes, and the classic Dinobot colour palette? They look nothing alike.

Superficially, yes they do resemble each other. If you want specifically, no they don't.

But, Grimstone could very easily be customized into Slag (or a Slag homage figure). Just add horns and round out the frill for the Ceratopsian mode and maybe add some paint apps to the robot mode and voila! An easy stand in for Slag that could work next to Classics Grimlock.

Honestly, I'm surprised I haven't seen this in the Radicons yet.

Hmmm. I wonder how he'd look next to Classics Grimlock.

He resembles Slag if Slag totally let go and got robo-love handles thanks to eating way too much energon cookies.

I've had it on the back-burner for months (since I bought the PCC set). I plan on modding it a bit to both appear more Triceratops-ish and more like Slag.

Also removed the Dimetrodon head and have that being used as Sludge's head.

Not entirely sure about the scale difference but he and the rest of his troop looks great next to Classics Grimlock in dino mode.

I'll have to take a look in robot mode but I'm sure he'll be way shorter than Grimlock.

If anything, his head looks like Sludge's. Barely.

If only Grimstone was a little bigger and the limbs transformed into bots. :(

And then people would complain why they weren't the "real" Dinobots.

And those complaints would go in one ear, take a stop in the brain and find that their misery is music to my soul and then leave out the other ear. :p

Nah, I'm just fine with them as they are. Trying to shoehorn another 5 Dinobots into the lineup is just too much.

They're junior Dinobots, like the new Wreckers recruits in LSOTW. Wheeljack and Ratchet built the little dino-drones without robot modes.

Redo's and homages aside, Slag and Grimstone are night and day. Re-read Grimstone's bio and you'll see he's The Nicest Dinobot Ever (tm). Versus Slag, who's a lot meaner than I ever realized as a kid, Triceratops lover that I am.

The robot reminds me of Sludge or Snarl more.
