Well this is kinda early but it crossed my mind do you guys think Optimus Prime will die at some point during the shows run?

Not only NO, but hell NO!! Hopefully they've learned from series in the past, it doesn't pay to kill off Optimus..plus they got Peter Cullen to return as Prime for this series, fairly sure they wouldn't do that to him again  

 

It is inevitable.

Honestly, the only thing forcing them to stick with that is the fact that nearly every Optimus has died beforehand. That's not a guarantee, though. Every incarnation of Arcee before now has been pink, and every version of Soundwave talked before now.

I'd be interested in seeing other characters die around Optimus and show him dealing with the grief. It's what I think should have been done for G1.

 

maybe they can diverge from tradition and start the show with him dead.

cold opening, new record for fastest respawn etc etc

 

At this point, we have no clue where they'll be going with the show. For all we know, Raf could be stripper by the end of it.

Please no, if someone dies they need to stay dead, and no the zombies don't count as coming back to life, because they where mindless.

If Optimus should die it's permanent, and if Megatron revives him as a zombie, prime is still dead; if the Autobots try to revive Optimuse in any way it should not work, he stays dead.

 

Yeah I can see it taking place in a dream and then Megatron is waken up by Starscream. I really cant see it happening in this series. So far once a bot is dead, it becomes a zombie soldier.

 

the best way to kill this optimusprime is for the final epesode in the final moments to stop cybertron from blowing up he must unite his spark with cybertrons core

cause this is the only scale of epic we have left for the death of prime unless megatron rips off his head and says give me your face lol

 

It's inevitable, but given the people working on it, and how long Hasbro wants it to potentially last, I think it'll be later in the show's time-frame, and probably handled very well.

If it's done just the right way, I wouldn't be against them then introducing some sort of replacement for him. Maybe Ultra Magnus Or Rodimus Prime could take over the helm of Autobot leader. Although who knows, this show might be the first to break the trend.

That storyline has been done to hell and back, I'm tired of it.

 

I hope not. I'm honestly sick and tired of Prime kicking the bucket in every series. Heck even Primal couldn't escape that fate in Beast Wars.

 

The only Optimus that didn't die at some point was RID Optimus, and that's only because in the original Japanese version of the show, he wasn't even supposed to BE an Optimus.

It's probably going to happen, no matter how cliche and dumb it is.

they probably will only to bring him back again. every prime seems to do this because "its a big sacrifice" well its not if it happens everytime. like someone else said kill other characters and show him holding the team together

 

I seriously hope that they don't.

But if they do, I hope they do it towards the end of the series.

 

Do at the a season finale, and bring him back a season and a half later. KInd of like how season 3 of G1 was handled, only with a little less glossing over it.
