This is an interesting question. I wanted you guys' opinion. Is the upcoming G2 Bruticus considered in the Fall pf Cybertron Line, or is it considered a continuation of the G2 line? I know it is many times referred to the "G2 color version of FOC Bruticus," but nowhere on the package is it referred to as "Fall of Cybertron," and it is only referred to as G2 bruticus on Amazon. So could this be an official continuation of G2 in retail (well... exclusive retail) for the first time since the 90's? Or just Part of the FOC line with novelty packaging?

From what I can tell, its supposed to be a partner with the Amazon Pre-Order bonus which is the Generation 2 Bruticus Skin in-game. So Its Fall of Cybertron Bruticus... just in Gen 2 Colors.

We know it's the FoC Bruticus-original mold, in G2 colors. But strictly in terms of official release. The notion that it is using Generation 2 packaging, and does not indicate "Fall of Cybertron" and/or Generations does bring up an interesting notion of it technically being an official G2 release.

I just thought that it was FOC in G2 packaging, although you do bring up a good point...

FOC is not G2... Bruticus and individual bots are definitely from Transformers: Fall of Cybertron game. It's just sporting the G2 colors of Bruticus.

Proof... Look at the upper right hand corner, which is the G2 Bruticus. Then we have the FOC sporting the G2 colors, camo, and faction symbol.

It's just easier to say G2 Bruticus, rather than G2 inspired FOC Bruticus...

You totally missed the point. He's not saying that it's the original G2 Bruticus. He's saying that since there are no FOC markings in the package, and that it's packaged in a G2 box, people are asking if this is a G2 toy redecoed from a Generations/FOC toy

While I personally don't count G2 redux as an official retail continuation of G2, mostly because it's part of the "Timelines" toy line, and it was a con exclusive, it could be a possibility... We'll have to wait and see.

Well, there's the fact that it uses G2 faction symbols too. The only releases that have used those symbols are either G2 Redux figures or actual G2 figures. Since he's obviously not an original G2 figure, I don't think it's too far off to classify him as a G2 redux figure. Yea, he's a repaint, but ALL the G2 Redux figures have been repaints.

Many collectors arrange their display according to what line the figure(s) is in, though. Yea, I agree he's an awesome figure, but I wouldn't put him on my WfC/FoC shelf despite him using WfC/FoC molds.

How about we call it whatever we want to call it? It's not like this is that important of a thing.

I will personally call him mine. >:3

I note that TFWiki has classified him as an update to G1 Bruticus, not FoC Bruticus. Even has it listed as a G2 figure, no less. The bio text is pretty ambiguous, but it goes say his weapon is a sonic rifle, which is G1 Bruticus' weapon.
