To use wood as a core and coat it with a layer of styrene? Because I am now constructing the tower for my custom fort max, but Im not so good with working with just styrene and foamboard is to weak to hold a good shape for what I am wanting.

The tower IS going to be hollowed out as well to accommodate the twin cannons that Fort Max is known for ;)

The reason why I am asking is because I dont want to get mostly done to only find dissapointment :(

You can use almost anything, man. It's YOUR custom. I've seen others use wood alone, sanded and painted up--and I've also seen people use wood and foam board with styrene over it. It all depends on your plans and ideas and if the weight will be cool with what you plan to do. In the world of kitbashing, EVERYTHING is your friend. You can literally use anything you want, bro. I'd say go for it--you'll only learn more through trial and error and I think it sounds cool. Good luck with it, man!
