With the impending release of the Generation 2012 line, does the FOC Shockwave automatically become your Classics Shockwave?

Personally, I'm torn. On one hand, he's too small, but that hasn't stopped WFC Soundwave from holding the "Classics" spot until the 3rd party MP Soundwave comes out. On the other hand, I don't see another Shockwave coming from anywhere any time soon...

    Your thoughts?

G1 Shockwave is my Classics Shockwave. Why try to improve on perfection?

    Pros: Looks pretty G1.
    Posable.
    Looks great.
    Matches current aesthetic.
    Exists.

    Cons: Is small.

... yeah, I'm going with it. I mean, what's the other options, Alternators Shockblast? Energon Shockblast? Too big (and weird), and the quality of the FoC version more than makes up for Energon's size.

Plus, depends on what figures you use for your collection. As previously mentioned, it'll go well with the WfC figures if you consider them your Classics versions of the characters. And even if you don't, it'll be smaller than very few figures, considering how Generations was Deluxe-only and Classics/Universe never went larger than Ultra.

I like Energon Shockblast a fair bit considering that, well, he's not a very good figure or anything. However the new Shockwave will no doubt largely replace him. Although I shuffle and re-configure my 'cons so much that I'll probably retain a use for both of them, especially since the video game figures will probably deserve their own shelf soon.

I'm a huge Shockwave fan-boy, but I have to say that the G1 Shockwave is very poor and far from perfect compared to today's standards.

The FoC Shockwave will easily and most definately be my Classics Shockwave. No doubt about it.

He'll be my stand in. If something better comes along, be it official or Third Party, I will replace it.

I'm glad you're getting the shockwave you want, but growing up with the G1 cartoons I think of him as a giantic imposing figure, and the FOC's size is just a deal-breaker. Plus, the G1 figure has pretty great range of motion in the arms, and the legs aren't bad either with a little posing work. There's very few G1 figures I think hold up well today, and I'd count Shockwave among them.

When the Generations stuff went to deluxe sized only I decided I just worry about the scale of things anymore. If I learned to live with War for Cybertron Megatron and Prime only being deluxe sized then I can live with Shockwave being deluxe sized.

Like other people have said given the choice of a smaller Shockwave or no Shockwave I'll take the smaller figure.

Yeah, FoC Shockwave will be on my Classics/WFC Shelf. I think he'll look great standing with Megatron, Soundwave, and the eventual Starscream. :thumb

I also grew up during G1, and remember getting Astro Magnum at Radio Shack as a kid. The mold is great, no argument there.
Honestly, I forsee a MP Shockwave in our future, so hopefully we can both get the Shockwaves we want.

Get a pair of MP Seeker legs and you have the perfect Shocky! I'd say he was too big for classics tho.

Eeyup. Scale doesn't bother me one bit, so this is going to be the perfect Classics Shockwave for me.

I was going to, but he looks far too skinny and TF Prime like for my taste.
