I've been thinking ... It seams that Hasbro may have been the cause of this whole debacle. Originally, all the first editions were supposed to be released before Christmas, but toysrus barely got any of the initial wave, and now, rid is coming out. My thought is that just like rts, these toys were ordered, but later cancelled because of poor timing on Hasbro 's part. Perhaps to the extent that prime, bulkhead, etc will still be available through Ross, the Max's, etc. At least I'm hoping.
    Thoughts?

Poor timing on hasbro's part???? The issue with Rts and generations was super slow sales on tons of movie repaints and pegwarmers from rotf going forward. When product doesn't move and stores don't order additional product hasbro has to adjust their time frames and sales plans. We have seen waves cut from almost every toy line since animated.

RTS came out as a continuation of ROTF mixed in with the Classic figures before the newer DOTM movie toys and retailers had stopped ordering in anticipation of buying the movie toys. The RTS line probably sat in the warehouses and were soon sold to the discount retailers. The First edition toys were limited. TRU had the option of which region would order what assortments. Maybe they ordered enough that the online retailers had only so much left. Who knows? Maybe timing really is off and they are now sitting in some warehouse.

We really don't know how limited these were and TRU Canada did get Voyagers.

I hope that ends up being the case. Hunting for random RTS stuff at places like London Drugs was fun.

As i've explained in other threads, those are a different production runs using, among other things, different packaging, it's not all relative

Well, RTS at least got distribution in the states much later. So time will tell I guess.

That would be hunt for the decepticons.

RTS was a continuation of universe, classics and so on. It came after HFTD.

HFTD and RTS come up under the same SKU at Target , Walmart and Walgreens

They are basically the same line with modified packaging.

HFTD were the obvious continuation of the movie line with movie figures and designs only.

RTS , for the most part, were g1 classics style re-imaginings.

They are two separate lines beyond packaging as they come with different figures from each other.

Stores have a separate reasoning behind categorizing stock then the manufacturers do.

No, I actually saw RTS at least once in person. This is much, MUCH worse.

It's a shame that they didn't think to repackage the Entertainment pack in the new boxes along with the Starscream & Bumblebee pack and offer them in a mixed case. That might have been worth doing.

Actually looking back at the Optimus Vs Megatron Classics Deluxe pack I'd not be surprised to see those two Prime Deluxes repacked in red and white boxes anyway.

Understood. Hasbro UK, Hasbro Canda, Hasbro USA. The toys are all produced and packaged and shipped to their respective destinations. Most of us agree that last wave of RTS (particularly scouts and voyagers) saw poor or no distribution because stores stopped ordering due to the upcoming movie. What we don't know is why only the first wave of Prime deluxes have shown up at the US TRU and online stores, but not the others. Could be production problems, scheduled deadlines, or whatever reason Hasbro decided. For all we know, the toys could very well be sitting in some warehouse. It's just odd that the line (FE)would be canceled when there are orders for them from the online retailers.

True, but Fallback and Mindset were also released in the deluxes, Strafe in the Voyagers, and all the other ROTF repaints with Windcharger.

Its all on Hasbro, as a Star Wars collector as well, distribution problems have also stalled that line.

I personally don't think so, as with RTS online retailers did receive the US versions. It was a case of poor distribution, not item cancellation, which is the FE figures case.

TJ Maxx, Ross and the rest of the gang must pull through.
