For the past few years I'd usually say that Energon was probably the worst Transformers series, being the awkward mix of all traditional animation (Armada) and the full CG Transformer character models (Cybertron) that came right after, and I hate Ironhide's voice with a fiery passion. But today I decided to watch an episode from one of the DVD's on my shelf, I have no idea why, and the episode where Shockblast merges with Unicron and fights Optimus Supreme, and then Megatron merges with Unicron...it was actually kinda fun.

I've seen roughly 15-20 episodes of the whole series. Should I sit through the rest?

At 52 episodes, it's got about as much story wise as watching Revenge of the Fallen 10 times.

Yep. But at least Energon Devastator isn't a hunchback quadraped.

I know, I kinda like his look. I just realized that the animated models of Energon are 100% copies of the toys.

I've always said if you stop at 26 and start on Cybertron there the plot connections with Cybertron actually make as much if not more sense.

The only thing worth a second look from Energon are the Decepticon toys. They're the shiny jewels in that whole line.

To this day I haven't been able to watch the series all the way through.

Well, the show did make Beast Machines watchable...so the answer's no.

Been watching it recently. Some of the episodes are pretty good. Like the whole
    reprograming Inferno saga
I really enjoyed. I hated the way it ended, but that episode called "Inferno Imprisoned," or something like that, is still one of my favorite episodes of the series. I think that some episodes are worth going back to watch but for the most part, no. Just watch the first 26 episodes and move onto Cybertron. <--That was a good tip.

If you can get past the awkward CGI and the bad dubbing, I don't see how it's any worse than Animated. Can't say it's any better than Animated either though. If you're going to give it a second look, I'd recommend trying the fansubbed Super Link instead of the US Energon version.

Well I consider Animated to be the best TF series since Beast Wars.

Wha. . . what? There's no way. Animated was so much fun and the entire TF community actively followed every episode all the way to the very end. Energon was boring, mind numbing, and barely anyone was talking about it by the time it got to its last episode. They couldn't be more different. My opinion, of course.

No. In fact, I would put all your spare time into creating a time machine so that you could go back and stop yourself from giving it a first look.

don't do it, just watch "inferno imprisonment" or whatever episode is where megatron infected inferno to make him a decepticon.......there is a scene in there with some SICK animation.....the series would we watchable with that animation......

The Omnicons, Landmine, and Bulkhead are pretty good, too.
