With all the promo art, trailers, and "supposed" inspiration from Megatron I believe Dropkick will be the main antagonist of the film like he is the one mainly running the operation on earth.

If anything shatter looks like the one who’s more in the lead. In the first pic to drop she was in front, and in the trailer she’s the one talking to S7.

While they are both the main antagonists, Shatter feels like the alpha of the duo. She has the strongest presence in all the footage we have seen. She is always in the lead when both characters are on screen together.

As for Blitzwing, who knows what his final role will be.

Him and Shatter are the main villains. I feel like Shatter is going to get more screen time though. Nice to see a female Decepticon being the main antagonist.

From what it seems, maybe bumblebee kills off shatter in the final battle (at the ship yard) and this is when we see the shot of dropkick chasing Charlie, and Bee stopping him. Hell, maybe dropkick even becomes cough* barricade* cough*, after shatter is killed which would thus give barricade some legitimate hate for bee. Who knows, endless possibilities. He is probably just gonna end up being a side character though lmao.

My guess is that Dropkick and Shatter are co-villains. Shatter almost seems to be the 'leader' of the pair, but I'm guessing they get about equal screentime in the final movie.

Honestly, Dropkick is probably being pushed a bit more in promo images and whatnot because Hasbro claims that male characters sell better than female ones.

Isn't that the old bio for Dropkick? The one for the 2007 robot?

I know it's a line from the international trailer though.

Well they arent wrong, even if it may seem "politically" wrong. The statistics dont lie. But I feel in the actual film shatter will most definitely be the leader of the pair.

My only issue with that is Shatter doesn’t even outwardly appear super feminine. Looking at robot designs alone, you wouldn’t be able to really delineate gender from either robot.

I actually agree with this. The only noticable difference is really her arms actually, they are a lot leaner then the "male" robots arms. And the hood of the muscle car is more "robust" on her chest then the male counterparts aswell. But all in all, that's about it. I agree with you on that. It is kinda strange to say the least. I'm almost curious if shatter was originally not meant to be a female, but knight wanted to mix things up a bit (thank God) due to his previous heroine lead flix (coraline) and Hasbro begrungley agreed. Either way, definitely spells for more female tf's in the future which I am all game for, I think everyone is.

True. Supposedly, Shatter is loosely based on G1 Nightbird, who is also a Female Robot.

Yeah, that's very true. You'll see a lot more Rose Ticos and Reys shelfwarming than Lukes and Hans.

She's somewhat feminine, it's just more subtle. Personally, I really like that. I've always thought it's really silly when female robots are given heels and hair and whatnot to show that they're female. The male robots have masculine characteristics, but it's not overly obvious (aside from a few extreme cases like Hound). I don't know why female robots can't be the same way. I'm actually really glad the trend of overly feminized Transformers seems to be dying out.

I feel Dropkick will die early or first and Shatter will last longer in the movie.

I remember when Bay was telling us that Shockwave was the main antagonist of DOTM, he was awesome and really well developed. Also had a lot of screen time to flesh him out, what a good time.

I like how that's the most important thing about the character for a lot of people. Not being well-written, or having an interesting motivation or personality, it's the fact that a women voices them. Also you feel like she'll get more screen time? Hm. Well I guess if you feel that way.

How angry are people gonna be with them building up this generic red Decepticon who ends up dying halfway into the movie. The conclusions people are jumping to, I swear.

Trailers are always the most reliable and accurate way of gauging the story of a film.
