    Totally agree with you.

Casey is a great guy and we were born in the same city. I met him once, VERY nice guy, very approachable, and proud of his ethnic heritage.

Is this coming from the "any job is a good job" school of capitalism?

If only Casey realized that the Carbombya thing was a political jab, not a racial one.

    edit: read something wrong.

There were other middle-eastern characters in Season 2, but did Kasem work on any of those episodes? Is it possible he took more issue with the Carbombya concept because it was going to be a recurring setting, and would he have known that?

No, it's from the "... and Isaac Hayes was a hypocrite and a moron for quitting South Park the way he did." school of thought.

    If only more people did.

I never realized the nation was called 'Car-bomb-ya' until the interwebs.
Honestly, I never made the connection.

Casey Kasem is a class act. His work on TF was okay, but it's the legend he carved out for himself through Scooby-Doo that, to me, represents the best of his career.

I am sure he has no issue with the show now. He did not leave in some massive huff but - as is befitting the coolness of the man - calmly laid out his concerns and when they were dismissed, decided to end his association with the show.

No idea why bellpeppers has such an outrage to this. Whether you agree with his position or not, he is entitled to it. He didn't begrudge the show; or rant at the producers; or hate on his fellow VA for remaining (remember, he worked with Welker, Messick and Stephenson for decades). He just made a career decision. Happens everyday, folks.

There was a heroic arabic character in TF before Carbomya. Remember the prince that teamed up with the Aierialbot?

Counterpoint: Most voice actors are really nice people who are reasonable, patient, and not very vindictive at all.

What outrage? Because I have a contrary opinion?

Regardless, ours is a society that has achieved a new level of McCarthyism when it comes to racism; and accusations of racism where none exist is a pet peeve of mine.

I agree. It's not like they went and portrayed everyone as savages.

How the fuck does anyone forget that in less than a fucking year back then?
