cuz a certain online retailer now has in a bunch of neo figures, and this guy has always looked kinda nifty to me, but also a bit like a furry shell former. any ideas?

Yes he's a cool figure, and looks good in both modes.

Easily one of my favorite toys ever. His Beast Mode looks great and his Robot Mode is nicely articulated, nicely sculpted, and has a kickass spiring claw gimmick.

I had him and sold him. I got him in a lot and absolutely hated him. Way too much kibble and a pain getting back into beast mode.

I like all Neo figures, except for Blentrons, but it's only because I don't have them :(
Longrack is one of my first Neo toys. His beast gimmick is awesome :lol

Many Japanese BW figures are awesome for their asymmetry in transformation. Longrack is definitely one of those.

Worth getting? Absolutely. The Neo figs are fantastic - and Longrack is one of the best of 'em... I think he's got one of the smoothest beast and robot modes of the series.

And it's just so damn cool that there's a transforming giraffe.

He's easily my favorite Neo figure (and, yes, I know Big Convoy rocks too). He's really not that hard to transform, he's got a great robot mode color scheme, and his Giraffe mode is actually pretty cool. The only complaint I have is how touchy the triggers are on the knee missiles...those things go off so easily.

    Definitively worth getting!
ONe of the things I really like about BW NEO figures is the new idea of design concerned to the "Shellformer". I mean, TF's that ahve got most of the alt mold like hanging all over the body. This allows a great poseability and a better robot design.

I started with a Korean BW NEO 4-pack, to get most of the Dinos, but after thata I didn't stop untill I got all BW NEO figures.

    Even the Blendtrons! :p

Longrack is my second favorite Beast Wars Neo toy, right after Heinrad. He is a very good TF.

Worth checking out. He's big and looks great in both modes. One of the nicest ones to come out of that era of Transformers, alongside Big Convoy.

:cry  If I could find reasonably priced Elphaorpha...the other 2 aren't that hard to come by.

It's got a difficult transformation, but both modes are awesome. Got mine early this year and don't regret it one bit. looks awesome. And nice and big giraffe mode too! I'm sure you'll like it!

I'd also go for the TF Universe Nemesis Prime repaint of Big Convoy if you want more from the NEO area.

oh don't worry, I've got a few bw II/neo figures. the primes, stampy, corhada, and heinlad. I love the aesthetic of them so much more than the regular bw figures. I still want break, and maybe mach kick as well.

Me to, i'll probably end up getting all the original Beast Wars NEO molds. I'd suck some serious ass for Killer Punch and Break.

Right now all i've got is Big Convoy (Universe repaint), Guiledart, and Longrack.

He is quite a bitch to come by. I had zero problem with Rartorarta (eh?) and very little trouble with Drancron... Elphaorpha was hard as hell to find, but when I did I got a great deal on him.:)

Break is indeed one fun little figure. Seems to be one of the hardest to find, though. MACH KICK... he's pure awesome. Best TF figure ever, IMO.:)

As for the question at hand... DEFINITELY pick up Longrack. He's a bit kibbly in bot mode, yes, but such a fun figure.
