Probably a stupid question, as the general consensus tends to be "absolutely", even when the price was up at $54. I was just making sure before I pulled the trigger. I mean, he seems epic, as you get:

    6 figures
    5 display stands
    6 character cards

And (since I'm pretty new into seriously looking into G1 combiners), I love the whole "Scramble City" concept. Everyone (w/ the exception of Snaptrap) can turn into and arm, leg, or weapon? Awesome. So, what do those of you that own him think? Should I get him ASAP? Or perhaps wait for a sale like Black Friday? (I suppose I have to factor in shipping, too, which is another $10...)

Don't listen to all the crying u hear.

I have an original and the re issue, if u can find another G1 combiner new for $40 buy it.

They won't get cheaper and the people complaining the worst about them probably don't have an original to compare against.

I bought it for $30 to complete my Piranacon, and it would have cost much more to buy used parts ebay to finish. When I was done I sold my extra parts on ebay and got my $30 back. So it was FREE. It was worth it.

Well, yeah. I'd take any figure for free :p  But was it worth the $30 in the first place?

Buy it. Now. Hell, buy two. I got two sets when they first came out and was comfortable paying that price (whatever it was, but more than what they go for now). At the current price, jump on it. It's a nice combiner and the one quibble I have with this release (preapplied stickers that peel off a bit already in some places) is fixable as long as you have one of those resticky things handy.

just thought i'd let you know that those "stands" are not display stands.

they're stands for the "gun modes"

    it's a targetmaster, x five.

    :lol

edit: in my opinion, all the g1 combiners are worth owning. even some of the not so "great" ones, like superion and menasor.

but that might be a biased view, as i did grow up on them :lol

I understand that, though rereading my OP I can see how one could think otherwise after reading it.

Piranacon is my first and only G1 combiner, and I have no regrets about him. He's a stunning figure, get him now.

As long as you're okay with the G1 style if BBTS had only made 3,000 of them it would have been worth the original $60. You getting to buy it for $30-$40 is a steal.

Well, it'd be my first G1 figure period. But he looks so awesome, I'll probably get him soon.

I'd say ANY g1 combiner set is worth $39, especially with chrome and a display box.

That being said, I traded my set away and haven't bought another one yet...

The BBTS Piranacon had the stands? I thought it did not come with the reissue?

Yep. It comes with the stands. It is worth every penny I paid for it! The price is so good now that I've been seriously thinking about buying a few more!
