I have the transformers animated autobot grimlock alternator. I'm itching to open it, but I know the value will be higher if it stays sealed. Will it be worth much now or in the future, or should I just go ahead and open it?

On another note, does anyone know if the new Iphone or the HTC is a better phone? Which one would you prefer? I did some research and it looks like the HTC is much better, but I currently have the first gen Iphone and want to stick with apple, what do you guys think?

Which is it? Animated or Alternator? Activator?

If it's Animated Voyager it isn't worth much. I saw one at Ross for $12.00 a few weeks ago. I'm not sure about the Alternator.

i don't think activators are going to worth that much in the future. it might go up 10 dollars and that will be the most.
also get iphone 4 if you have a 1st gen you don't need to get a htc and pay for all of you apps again.

Sorry, I meant TF: Animated, Activator. It's from the animated cartoon series, one button conversion.

I haven't found any Transformers Animated going up much in price. You should invest in classics figures instead.

Don't open him. Return him. Activators have no play value. The nogsaltic value of the 'one touch conversion' wears off fast.

    Bah. Activators are cool.

    He's worth retail. Possibly less.

There is a lot of Animated being sold at discount stores like TJ Maxx, Ross and Marshalls. Don't think Animated toys will be worth much ever, aside from exclusives like Rodimus and Arcee.

Open him up, He's a cool, cheap toy to fiddle with.

Unless you have room to store him for 20 - 30 years, it's not going to be worth much and even then nobody knows. Buying toys as an investment is never sound financial advice. If you want to open it, then open it.

If you want to save the packaging, there are ways to slice open the bubble so it can be placed back in the package and it will look almost like it's sealed.

What he said. The chances of a third party making an add-on for him and driving up the prices is zero to none.

TF's aren't good investments. For every one that skyrockets in value there's ten more that don't even sell for half of retail.

activators aren't worth much, unless you're a kid and your dad's friend shows up and gives you a couple. then they are priceless (for about an hour.)

I have the 16GB iPhone4, but my reasons for getting it were strictly because of the High Contrast and VoiceOver feature to help me see/use the phone.
but as i am learning the navigation of the phone, (it's my first iPhone) i am really digging it.

i just loathe and hate iTunes because it makes getting apps or managing music files pure torture. imagine trying to read a credit card's fine print with someone holding a LED Flashlight in your eyes.

but that's nothing against the phone.

Modern toys don't appreciate all that much in value, Beast Wars is only just getting up there for some toys, but even most of those are still reasonably priced. I'd say open it, Grimlock's a great cool little toy, especially if you're a fan of the character.

if it was G1 Grimlock, then i'd not open it, but he's right, nothing new will appreciate.
