No, it's a terrible price unless it's in AMAZING condition, with the card and bubble.

I always thought they named him wrong for the color scheme as well. I figured it was because they didn't want a toy labeled a terrorist (especially so recently after 9/11). But you never can tell why toy companies do things the way they do.

It's Alternators, with REAL WORLD ACCURATE paint schemes. That's why he's not maroon with an off-center yellow stripe. but it IS Deadend.

Right. You're not going to see too many Vipers from that year customized (or any year for that matter) unless it's a race car. That being said, also remember the mold was actually made for SUNSTREAKER, but Takara ended up wanting to make a Decepticon first. At one point, the name was "BLACKSTREAKER", and could have even been a SUNSTREAKER character update. Instead, Hasbro/Takara went ahead with the name DEAD END and chose to allege him with the Decepticons instead.

Bottom line is that "officially" he is DEAD END. If you want to call him "Wildrider" or "Dark Bot", feel free. You own your toys; Hasbro/Takara owns their Transformers property. I hope that helps :)
