While I wait on parts for my combiners, I was asked to do a repaint of movie Ironhide...so I call this G1 Ironhide v.2.( first post here was a G1 repaint) Inspired by Timshinn's digibash, I basically took Alternators Skids and hands and swapped it with movie Ironhide's head and hands, I also removed the dinky small tailpipes and replaced them with some decent ones. Painted him in enamel dark red, opted out on the yellow strip... I remember someone saying it reminded him of McDonald's lol...robot parts was done with gun-metal, and two shades of silver. I guess, back to my combiners Enjoy shotokandragon
Looks great! Can we get some headshots with a bit brighter lighting? I want to take it all the awesomeness!
I like it. And I can't understand why hasbro put out G1 paintjobs on so many of the movie toys and not Ironhide! He got a blue repaint! (BLUE?...REALLY Hasbro??)I actually want to do the same thing to my Movie Rachet but I can't find a suitable head.
this has got to be the best G1-styling job on a movie iron hide i've ever seen. the paint on the car body could need a little more smoothing out, but the head change and the hands are just pure genius!
nice I never got a movie Ironhide because I really wanted a red one and I would love to get one like yours. Very nice job on it.
Woah! Love the new head sculpt. Makes him look like a totally new character all together! Well done!!!
I would, if I can find some one who has an extra one of those head. I posted a thread about it in the request section, but haven't had much luck. I only have 2 Alternators, and I couldn't see spending that much on one just for the head. It's bad enough I practically had to re-finance my house just to afford the first 2.... and they were on sale!
Sabrina, I suggest this head sculpt (alternator skids) in your movie Iron Hide thread a few months back. I'd still love to see this applied to your paint style as well.
Wow...this looks great!!...the new Head and hands do wondrous things for this mold....Love the shade of red you used also. All I would do is put some rubber tires on this guy, that would be like the cherry on top of the sundae!! None-the-less, friggin awesome job
Thanks PK, it was driving me nuts every night on how I would put rubber on this guy, but I didn't want to risk it especially on a commission. For sure the next one.
