I know this has been done before, but here's my take on G1 Ironhide.

    Body and head: Energon Inferno
Arms: RiD Optimus Prime with heavy mods

    EDIT: Alt Mode pic added.
I know, it kinda looks like butt, but that's a weakness of the arms I used...

That looks great. One of the better Energon molds out there. I might have to try that for my cybertronian mold autobot display. I also would never have thought that modifying the stock head would work so well for Ironhide. Does his head just sit outside uncovered in alt mode though?

Yeah I was wondering about why you used different arms. I looked at the mold on my own after seeing your custom and it seems the stock arms could be used and maybe the back of them could be cut away to fit the head in alt mode

bot mode looks great. did you use a hot glue gun? for attaching the arms? I would paint that red maybe, and if you want to have a stronger hold, use some devcon epoxy weld or super glue fusion epoxy. with the epoxie glues, not only are they stronger, you can also wipe away the unwanted glue around the part worked on, without getting your finger burned.

looking forward to more from you, really like that PM prime

    Thanks: FYI the junker Inferno I used didn't come w/ any arms;
hence, the need for alternate arms.

I REALLY like the work you've done here, man. I think there are a few areas that can be refined just a bit, but this makes an EXCELLENT "Cybertronian" type mode Ironhide I think. Thanks so much for sharing :thumb

Alt mode isn't great but compared to the POS Universe mold it's still a great alternative and the robot mode looks much better.

I'm not going to lie man, it could use some work, but using that Inferno for the body looks great! I never would've thought of that.

elaborate man! we're here to give helpful advice and grow.

nothing against you, i would give him some pointers on how to make it look better and if you have some ideas, let him know. that's the only way we learn and grow at this.

Don't feel too badly, as I didn't either. Mainly, I really didn't feel that my suggestions would be very noteworthy, but I wanted to make sure I posted something encouraging (which is typically my agenda and goal when posting here).

Some of the paint just needs cleaned up a bit and some of that adhesive grinded down to conform with the shape a bit. The work I saw last night (and now of course) just seemed like a minor bit of work which was hardly worth me pointing out. However, that being said now, I really don't think it would take a lot of time and effort to really polish this up a bit more :)

    Yo, vid! Great job.

If you can hunt down a black emery board from Sally's Beauty Supply (the curved one's are like sandpaper, man!) for like 50 cents you can sand down those glue clumps.

The head is gangsta. I'm gonna have to do this for my collection. :thumb
