I was thinking about the personality of the character of Ironhide in the movie and from the tec specs I feel as though they are making him a older wiser character more of a Kup type then he orginally was.

Yeah, he does seem more like an old rusty warrior than a tough guy cowboy. :(

could just be me, but i like it better that way. he couldnt be a cowboy if he was from another planet. he wouldnt know what a cowboy is. but you're right, he's not as gung-ho as G1. but i like it better this way.

Oh, I didn't mean cowboy like spandex-tight jeans at the rodeo with an 80-gallon hat, I meant like; "We're outnumbered 50 to 1!! What do we do??" "Yee haw! Let's bust some heads!" :lol

I'd think of his character in the movie more as a grizzled veteran; patched up more times than he can remember, and still getting into the thick of things every chance he gets.

Yup. And ironically, it's closer to the source material then the G1 cartoon was. :p

Don't know if that's what they're doing, but I like the sound of it.
Ironhide seems like a perfect candidate for a TF senior citizen.

    <~~~ If I may speak

The new Ironhide with the other Autobots are kind of what I didn't expect after reading script. I liked Ironhide's "Aw, you didn't just do that in front of me, Decepticreep" attitude. Like what Barricade said, "...bustin' heads...."

They behaved a little too mechanical, they are machines but also sentient with their own personalities, aliens machines from another planet, not machines from ours and what we would expect.

I was to assume that after scanning the internet and all its history, with our language, they would sort of be influenced by our culture in what they scanned into their databanks. Maybe no realize it, that Ironhide's actin' like a cowboy our what a "cowboy" from his planet would be like, ready for the action deal. The text made them seem kind of bland and cold to me but there was some humor that I did enjoy, just played differently in my head

Yea, Ironhide sounds to me like he is The Drill Sergeant off of Full Metal Jacket, all balls and a little spice.

His attitude sounds more "I dont know what it is....but lets poke it with a stick and then if it crawls....DESTROY IT!!!!!

Most of the MOVIE charachtors seem to be fusions of our childhood heroes. So IRONHIDE = KUP, IRONHIDE and a little dose of ULTRAMAGNUS. BUMBLEBEE = BB, HOTROD, and a little WHEELIE./

WHEELIE? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! That little upstart can't be compared to the greatness that is BB! Ok, I'll give you that he is meant to be the 'youngest', but Wheelie was just plain annoying.... and I think Ironhides character is more like his old G1 bio, not that $hit Armada knockoff with the same name (IMHO, don't hate me!).
