I don't think you'd even need a new head sculpt. Skids' head is already very Ironhidesque. I'd definitely get Alternators Ironhide if he was merely a red redeco of skids.
the mster of this Alternator Skids transform to Ironhide and Ratchet is well-feymous kitbasher from Secto70-JAF...hes done a bunch of these..further more he is not just using alt skids..it is also alt prime..
Ironhide was rumored at one time to be the Dodge Ram, but Takara insisted upon Convoy. I don't the Scion xB mold matches him at all. The head has a bit of resemblance, but that's it. Ratchet's even more off than Ironhide . . . .
actually, the first time i transformed skids into robot mode, my reaction was ' what the hell is wrong with takara, coloring it blue and calling it 'skids', this is freakin' BT IRONHIDE!!!
At least it appears no one's still pushing 'Broadblast' as being the Alt incarnation of Ironhide any more. And to answer the question; No.
I'm glad this is the first I've heard of this. Someone who can't figure out the logistics of the name "Broadblast" needs to learn how to use the Google machine.
I would like to see this mold recolored into Ironhide and Ratchet but since the Alternators line is dead the best one can hope is a SDCC/HTS exclusive, which I don't think is too far outside the realm of possibilities since both are movie characters, but I much rather the Rumble mode in Blue as Frenzy first though.
When the first gray testshots of this guy showed up, most people assumed it was Ironhide (and many then proceeded to bitch about him being a Scion). So yes, it would - and obviously has - made a good Ironhide.
I'm definitely not being hypocritical by saying this, but I do like the "Diaclone Black" quite a bit, despite my dislike for the Scion xB as "Ironhide".
Yup. I remember that. first non-blue test shots we saw, we were all convinced it was ironhide. I think it was even called that on the front page. and then when it was blue and announced as skids, we were all like "what the fuck"
