Ironhide has a distinct accent, but I am unable to exactly place it. Is it British? Is it Texan? Is it Australian? Just what accent does he carry?

British. I like how many of the Autobots have different accents instead than only american accents. If you think about it, most of the autobots have some kind of accent. Bumblebee is British, Wheeljack is something I dont know, Jetfires British, the wreckers are i think scottish or irish, mirage is italian.

In jess harnells va reel he does a southern accent that is bang on Ironhide, plus his character in drawn together is pretty much Ironhide too

Stereotypically British, if I remember. Although I'm British, and don't know a single person who speaks exactly like that, or a less than vague approximation. Still, I like his accent. And Jetfire's, I love the way he speaks :D

That is a voice actor do, changed voice to sound fit to the character they've been cast in. That's actually my main job goal is to be a voice actor in anime and cartoon, etc. First i have to go through theater, which i wiil start in after the summer. As for the topic, Jess Harnell the VA is american, but he can do a british voice to Ironhide just fine.

Maybe he means Mark Ryan's voice for Bumblebee at the end of TF1?

Ironhide's always had a slight British accent to me.

I thought his accent sounded like a combination of British and Southern. Kind of odd, but it worked great for the character.

Sounded pretty generic to me. I never got a Southern or English accent from him at all.

Jetfire's and Leadfoot's voices are scottish, not the same as British (English)

Every fucking time I see that ShoWest clip..

Why the hell didn't they just keep it in the movie? Had much more character and depth and even showed that Bumblebee at least TRIED to talk!

I don't know...I'm gonna go with the Texan accent, it would go well with his rough no nonsense personality.
