well not to thrilled about the alcoholism, and all those other themes as Im a happy camper with the idea of a superhero in armor figthing evils, spidermanish speaking.....

Ill keep an open mind...but Ironman jumped many many times from my hero to be a freaking loser.

Mo. That was me. At least one franchise I like is getting a movie made by some one who's passionate about the source material.

I just hope they stay from the "Ultimate" armor design. That thing has always looked like ass, to me.

Sounds like he's got everything exactly right. The alcholism isn't be dropped. He's right that it was a later development, and it isn't something that needs to figure into an origin story. A few hints here and there should suffice, and if offers story material for a sequel.

It sounds promising so far. Favreau is a pretty cool guy and I'll just trust his judgment. Maybe it'll turn out good.

    Oh, hell yes!!!

A director? WHO REALLY ENJOYS AND KNOWS THE SOURCE MATERIAL!?!

Just the fact that he also grew up with Iron Man and knows about the alcoholism, bankruptcy, etcetc, makes me VERY happy!!!

I have faith that Iron Man will be a successful franchise with Favreau at the helm. It's great that he knows enough about the history to know what to include in the first movie and the sequels. I am hoping it'll be the dark horse of 2008and surprise a lot of people.
