If this is real, I think I just heard Mark Waid shoot one in to his pants.
This is indeed cool news, at least if its true.
Sweet news if real, here's hoping it is.
This story needs to be taken with more salt than a McDonalds' French Fry.
It seems way, WAY too good to be true.
Whoa! If Sam Jackson appears as Nick Fury...then we could be seeing the Capt. America in his "ultimate" suit, which translate better in real life - IMO.
I think Jon Favreau's gonna have a hit on his hands. This movie is looking great from what we've seen so far.
This is too cool to actually be true.
It'll be David Hasselhoff...
This news, if true, just turned this into a must see movie for me.
The Hoff = Win
I'm just not the biggest Sam Jackson fan. And I'm not sure he can really pull off Nick Fury. But I don't have any better ideas, and I'm already thinking I was wrong about Jon "Swingers" Faverau and Robert "I Can't Help Myself" Downey being awful for the film. So I'm interested to see how it works out.
They're going the 'Ultimate' route then? Can't say I'm mad about that snippet of news.
Well, the thing is, in Marvel's "Ultimate" continuity, Nick Fury is Sam Jackson.
Do a Google image search on Ultimate Nick Fury.
In a wizard interview, Sam Jackson said he'd love to do it Marvel needs to call me.
This is real!
Oh, I know. I absolutely love the two Ultimates series. And I don't deny that due to that, the appearance is spot on, nor do I have an issue with a black Fury rather than the white 616-Fury.
It's more that Jackson has just become a little hackneyed to me, thanks to his willingness to do his "Samuel Jackson" routine in as many films as his schedule allows--I think I really got over him after "Formula 51."
It's also that Nick Fury is a big favorite of mine, and I think he's got a very distinctive personality & attitude that I feel like the "Samuel Jackson" routine just isn't right for--almost like it would be an imitation that wouldn't nail it, and therefore, would totally fail, rather than his acting being a new, unique take on the character.
But hey, that's just a personal opinion, and I could be totally off-base--hell, I'll go on record and say I hope he nails the role, 'cause it'll make this movie and the Marvel movie-verse that much better.
sam muffuggin jackson?!!
zomg snakes on a shield helicarrier!
I can dig it
Cool, that would be pretty sweet. This movie sounds like it's going to be pretty cool.
I can't believe I actually shrieked when I read that. It had better be true.
