With the new movie coming soon and with it new figures I was pretty dissapointed with the paint jobs.(or lack there of) First up of many is Mark I armor, the figure lacked the look of metal and was really just brown plastic. I primed him with Black Krylon Fusion and used a new paint that I was told about called Alclad II Lacquer, it is intended for model planes to simulate real metal and comes in various finishes. I used Polished Aluminum for this big guy and I have to admit this stuff rocks, up close it really looks like metal not just paint. This is one of nine figures that I will be repainting using the movie line figures. Thanks for looking! Check out link for full gallery with bigger pictures--> Linky

I have a feeling we're going to see quite a few of these.

I bought one to repaint myself.

    Nice job.

lol, yea. Wreckgar saw it when Tonyz PMed him!

Looks sweet man. A little shiny for being a junk suit but the rust efect is fantastic! How did you do it? I'm dying to know for my own.

Thank you! I threw him in the dirt to get the rust effect.

Just kidding, the bottle of alclad says that the base coat can be a dark color so I thought if I used a little brown here and their it would work and lo and behold it took a true Iron Man fan to catch it, didn't really think it added much to the figure though. Whatch ya talking about too shiny, the thing is made out of hand crafted metal. I just took him through the carwash(hence the rust) here is the link to the pic I looked at before I started painting him, thats why he is shiny I will make a battle damaged to hell version for you once I can find another other than my upcoming gold version.

Did you hand brush or airbrush the alcad on? I know Alcad is a airbrush paint. but I don't have access to one yet.
