I have the DX9 & IF seekers and they both have their pros and cons IMO. I prefer the bot mode of IF and the alt mode of the DX9 (even though I don't like where the arms go in the F-15).

I'm not crazy about where the arms go on the IF one either, but at least the DX9 version tried to incorporate it into the alt mode.

Also as far as "design" of the IF set, it's basically the same design as the Hasbro IDW legends seekers. The added articulation on IF lets the legs collapse better, but it's basically the same.

Having said all that, I prefer the DX9 for alt mode (better jet proportions) and IF for alt mode (waist swivel plus I hate the neck area of the DX9 ones).

Is the pin knurled on one side or is it a straight pin?

Mine was smooth throughout... but the transparent plastic is a much tighter fit and it's very difficult to push the pin out.

Yeah, someone said they used a thumbtack at work earlier in the thread. I'm trying that but it isn't feeling very likely.

So aside from DX-9 War in Pocket and Iron Factory. What other companies make Legends size tranformers?

Well Shapeshift INC made legends sized WFC/FOC Starscream and Ironhide, then sold them again in different colors. They also showed a bit of a legends sized FOC Bruticus.

Then we have Unique Toys who has been doing a line called The Palm Collection. They consist of Headmasters, so far they have made a Hardhead, Chromedome, Brainstorm, Mindwipe, Skullcruncher, and Weirdwolf. But if I'm not mistken they have already showed pictures of Apeface, and Highbrow.

    To add:
Generation Toy/TransformMission/Warbotron have a few legends figures. Optimus, Grimlock, Shockwave, Megatron
Maketoys is coming out with a legends Nemesis Prime that combines with trailer to Ultra/Leader size.

There's also TFC Toys EX-004 Targetroids SCREAMER... but his alt mode is a gun instead of a jet. They had this whole little line of major character target masters... optimus, hotrod, etc. They're a bit rare on ebay at this point.

Ahhh yeah I totally forgot about them.  Which is crazy cause I'm planning on getting the Maketoys one and I already have all of the Warbo/TFM/GT figures. Haha whoops, thank you for reminding me. :thumb

Oh yeah those guys are super rare, I am still trying to find a few more, which is proving to be quite a challenge unless I want to spend a lot of money. :(

Mech Planet has a decent Soundwave mold out with Ironhide and Sideswipe on the way (complete with repaint characters).

Yeah that's right, dang I didn't realize how many companies legends are making legends figures. Oh well no complaints here, I'm really enjoying all the legends figures. :D

Finally got here guys and am not disappointed. They are just awesome! The tolerances on ghostscream are a bit too tight tho.

Success! It is easier to get the pin out of the opaque version of Starscream. Nipped a bit of paint when I got a hold of the pin with the needle nose pliers and scraped the pin up, hopefully that doesn't corrode now. But yeah, my trio all transforms nicely now.

Awesome! Btw, which figure will come with the rest of Sunstorm?

Edit: nevermind. Found the answer. Of course, I couldn't find it. But after asking, I find it.

I padded the flat wall of the vice with a paper towel and unscrewed the pin holder so just the pin is sitting at the end of the threaded shaft.
This made it narrow enough to work.

agreed. I popped in my GhostScream's arms and i had to apply a LOT of force to get them to move at all. They made this horrible squeaking as well and now i'm afraid i'm going to break the stem altogether if I try to move it again. Maybe they need some shock oil or something to loosen up those balljoints - anyone have recommendations?

So as someone who just discovered these figures and is having trouble parsing the whole thread, what are the apparent QC issues I see mentioned? I was debating picking up the Thundercracker.
