DX9 on suicide watch. DX9 is more G!, whereas Iron Factory is IDW.

 

Iron Factory does exclusives. So I will get the regular DX9 Starscream and wait for the exclusive Iron Factory clear one.

 

Yes! I love this company so much - finally I'll have all my Seekers + they will look totally bad ass.

I hope DX9 does a ghost Starscream too. I'd want to display him with tiny Targetmaster Waspinator or DX9's Scourge & Galvatron. You're probably right though. IF does exclusive's; not DX9.

 

so from the coneheads design I'm assuming these designs are the modes they had in RID volume 1 more or less? wasn't that the last time we saw a IDW character design for dirge? thrust?

i'm still curious about the dx9 g1 designs, I guess scale might factor inn too.

Also, kind of a bummer if and dx9 are doin the same thing ... wait.. that means we get to choose whatever we prefer and wont risk spending twice? yay win win for us. good times for legends tf3p!

From the looks of it they have Starscream, Thundercracker and Skywarp, that's most of them right? I know Acid Storm is somewhat popular and everyone is really wanting a Slipstream recolor but besides the 3 coneheads I think that covers everyone right?

 

I'm not sure to be honest, I'm sure there is a Seeker expert on these boards. There is also G2 stuff, Sun Storm, Hot Link, Bitstream and thats all I got for now. I wish I was more of an expert. Perhaps one of the mods can help answer your question better

 

And Slipstream would a Wingblade remold/recolor, right? Or has she been a seeker repaint traditionally?

 

IF damn well better make Slipstream out of their Windblade mold, especially since they've started pimping out their Arcee mold so much.

As for Seeker repaints, there's a helluva lot of them that can be made. Between Rainmakers, Welcoming Committees, and random repaints, they can get 15-20 different colored Seekers made easily.

With the added accessories (cape, crown) I can kinda see it for Starscream, but they have the same price for Thundercracker and Skywarp. 

I'll be skipping these as well unfortunately, but I may pick up Screamer if it can be bought for $30 shipped on eBay.

 

I'm definitely down for Starscream, at the very least. I'm glad they're doing some separation though - I wish they'd done Grimlock as a separate release as well (although I can understand why they didn't).

 

Yeah, I might pay more for Starscream, but not Skywarp and TC. I might just pickup Starscream and if I really like the mold replace my Hastak Skywarp and TC later.

 

Kinda weird ss is the same price as the other two when he has the crown and big cape. I guess they decided to not bump up his price just for those two bits. Or maybe the other two were priced up so he could sell for less. Eh I'ma get all three regardless and the conehead triple pack. Love how all these guys look.

 

I still can't understand how this guy, which will be smaller than the DX9 version, can be twice the price of DX9's.


It just boggles the mind. 

 

It comes down to aesthetics . g1 people can have dx9. idw people can have a team that does good legends figs. just your own preference . hes 23 for me so im guessing your not buying from asia since hes cheaper to get than dx9 on my end.

 

DX9's mini figures, frankly, just aren't built to the same standard IronFactories are. Which is weird given how incredibly high quality DX9's regular larger figures are, but everything I've seen of their mini bots indicates softer cheaper materials, far fewer paint aps and much simpler design overall compared to what IF typically offers. I wouldn't consider the two companies directly comparable in those areas.

But also these seekers are larger than IF's stuff usually is, closer to their overlord/magnus/dinobots than their windblade/arcee/perceptor/blaster etc.

 

If I do get these it will definitely be from a China seller on Ebay, so it'll be a lot cheaper for sure.
