I feel bad for kicking up a shitstorm of partsforming vs integrated accessories on a figure I was never going to buy anyway, but I see we've moved on to energon talk.

Since we got a new legends/iron factory lover with us, I figured it's probably a good time to remind people of the perfect puny energon options out there.

 

Megatron is just a little taller than Shockwave, but so is Optimus, how tall is IF Commander?

That's not even the best chart to use. That thing's got OP as tall as Omega's dink-plate.

 

I’m pretty sure Ultimate Commander is pretty much out of stock besides maybe eBay and B/S/T here in the forums.

But, I’m sure IF’s Toxitron later this year will stand taller than Shockers. Then again, that’s cause it’s a Power Master Prime! So... I’m not sure how tall the base prime stands, but probably really close.

Also, as pertains to a possible Autobot hovertank Megs— ~Gimme!~ =P

I thought it was something like that, but my unclear recollection had me hestitant to say that Megs transforms into a hovertank a bit like he rolled floated out of the N64’s Battlezone!

Though, for those who want a strictly pacifist Megs—despite that time he had antimatter leaking out his eyes to ~Spoilers~, also include pack-in Rung!

Wait, actually that’s not at all so that Megs can be a pacifist. I actually meant that so that Megs can have Rung turn into a second half of a Double Fusion Cannon for Megs to dual with Tarn.

Or, have Megs wield akimbo fusion cannons, I.E. a pair of Rung and Fusion cannon Tonfa, perhaps a bit like a tiny Striker Noir of hyper charged particles and Lacanian Guattarian Onticological Rungian Psychoanalyis! ^.^

In fairness, Sunbow's scale chart is incompatible with Sunbow.

 

So glad IF doesn't do this for characters it doesn't make sense for, this is the exact reason I stopped buying MMC. Give me original molds and I will pay that premium every time.

 

Aside from dx9 who make the ugliest legends, legends are on fire right now. I'm especially loving these if figures and the new brands making g1 mp legend figures. G1. MP. Levendsszzzz. If only these things were sold for appropriate prices.

You don't think Tarn would be a good base for megs

 

If it were MMC, I wouldn’t put it past them. I don’t think using a “base” for multiple characters is something I would ever want, Seekers aside. Each character has their own unique facets to them and I want to see that character come through rather than just using the same body. IF Soundwave, Blaster and Perceptor are examples of things I don’t care for. I will pay $40 a character for unique molds than $20-30 for slight remolds.

No. In vehicle mode Tarn's arms are where Megatron's legs go. The front if Tarn's tank is his torso laying face-down. Megatron's tank front is the front of his chest.

I know the vehicle profiles and forms are similar, but it doesn't appear that Tarn would make a lot of sense remoulding into Megatron because of the engineering that would need done to get the bot parts out of it.

I'll definitely get that Megatron if and when they make him though. It's an awesome design and IF doesn't have a buckethead available yet. I'd love to see it happen.

 

If you want quality it's gonna cost you, and the smaller the run on something, the more it's gonna cost due to how manufacturing works.

 

How many times has this been gone over? I can’t even count anymore, every thread maybe lol it’s always people who don’t collect IF that complain about pricing.

MP vs Legends pricing is very different, they just don’t get it. Hell, even IF vs DX9 pricing is a world of difference.

 

I would like an Autobot Megatron from IF, but a triple changing Gun/Tank* Megs from the Machinimageddon would also be sweet. ^.^

*But not the RX-75-4 Guntank! =P

 

So I just received my order (ordered right after seeing this the other night). Damn fine energon cubes son.  
I'd give you a gold star if I had one. Will be buying more of those lil' bastards and possibly in other colors.
