I really couldn't see how the bicep could bend any further outwards side to side. It does appear that the shoulder armor is obstructing it.

I did see one review one page back with about 35-40 degree out, but every other review and my own handling of the figure only got about less than 10 degrees.

I know that most legends scale figures have an opening at the top of the shoulder to allow the shoulder to bend outwards to the side. Like the shoulders of these guys below:

 

The problem isn't so much the shoulder armour as it is the shoulder itself. The upper edge of the shoulder bumps into the armour as you lift the arm up. I fixed this in 5 minutes with a hobby knife. If you flip the figure upside down, you'll see the armour is held on by some round pegs that hold it in by friction. You can pop the armour right off. Shave off a millimeter or two from the plastic on the side where the armour goes over the ball in the shoulder. You might also want to shave a bit off the outer edge of the armour as well, as the shoulder bumps into the armour's outer edge also. Pop the armour back on and you're good to go.

Finally got mine in. I haven't even transformed him yet. He is such a lovely rolling battle platform.

Looking at these comparison photos, you can see that IF really goes all out on the paint don't they.

 

Ok, I love this set. There are no photos of Ultimate Warrior with Hybrid Prime. Some parts feel a little tight though. For example, getting the small robot head into the body is very tight and the weapons storing on the Apex armor feels a bit tight but there are no stress marks.

It looks like someone's created an adapter for Bolt Runner's fist-gun to clip it on to the end of one of Optimus's folded up shoulder cannons. Compare to BR's accessory here:

It looks like a clay/Play-Doh kinda thing.
It's not straight or uniform.

 

Ah perhaps.. well.. 3D modelers.. get on it, make this official! haha. Or just an entirely new piece to give it a missile tip.
