I'm really hoping that the plastic for Steel Lucifer will be the same quality as their recent releases...

Hmm... I've got Ultimate Commander as well and I didn't have any issues with the joints or the weight of the plastic. I didn't mess with it much though.

This Jetfire looks really nice though. I'm pretty sure I'm in for it - although the scale of my legends sized bots has been all over the place lately with my IF collection getting diluted and mixed in with MFT figures and DX9 figures and GT figures...

Commander is an odd one for sure. He packs in a lot of what I love about IF gear - the presence, sculpt and paint, the modular build into the Ultimate form, the manner in which those 5mm pieces can interact with other figures if you fancy it is all really good stuff.

But though I overlook it in favour of the above - Commanders in hand feel is not representative of their product at all - let alone Cygnus - and given that this is Optimus Prime, a gateway figure if you will, it it seems odd that they rolled with some of the materials used. While their tolerances have always been a bone of contention, IF by and large tend to work with a heavy matte plastic on a lot of their stuff, the sort that feels like your classic Maketoys or FP kind of build. Or they go with a glossier but no less robust type (Evil Lord, Blizzard) that feels great as well. Cygnus looks to be the latter.

Thanks The Vic Viper, Kuma Style, rubadubspawn, Napalm, for your thoughts about Ultimate Commander vs. Cygnus. Good to hear that the former seems to be an outlier in terms of plastic. Maybe I’ll give IF another try with Cygnus or another figure soon…

Hey Everyone, Cygnus is now here and I must say that Iron Factory knocked this one out of the park! Such a fantastic piece for any size, much less Legends Scale. You can get your copy below.

It's all subjective, TBH. I didn't have a problem with the plastic itself but the toy in general is just light, particularly with the amount of armor and whatnot on it. And on mine, the shoulders don't stay tabbed in the sides of the chest well, particularly when moving the shoulders themselves.

    Got mine yesterday, wow!

May just be a contender for figure of the year.

Received mine today - fantastic figure, best IF figure alongside Swipe/Streaker, easy to transform, excellent joints, not too tight or loose, weapon fits well, absolute joy of a figure.

Can’t quite get 90 degrees. Like so many figures he has some raised detailing on his upper thighs that does nothing but hinder the range of movement. I think I’m content with the range as is but if I need more I can just shave that detailing off.

He gets a little more if you turn the thigh sideways.

Also it’s probably been mentioned but I didn’t know the whole backpack was a removable modular piece as well. Pretty cool.

Extend the wings if you want to take the Classics Jetfire homage even further. :D

Excellent figure overall, probably the most satisfying figure from Iron Factory so far. That said, I’ll drop it like a hot biscuit if Mech Fans Toy’s releases a refined KO of it. ;)

I love the modular nature of IF figures. It’s hard to know when to quit though...

I’d been thinking to note kitbashing in @barok’s thread about what aspects of the hobby are so rewarding, @Rewind.

And, of course, the whole of 3P started out with target masters and armor sets for Classics Optimus Prime and such, so that building block play was there from the start and continues to be quite fun!

Now, if only Iron Factory would do a weapons pack 2.0... :p

I mean, it only gets mentioned every time they show how he and Optimus can swap armor pieces :/

@Rewind: Pardon my ignorance but I thought Mech Fans Toys were just a budget KO option for dx9 figures (there are just too many of them legends ko'ers). So they improve upon IF figures in what way exactly?

MFT has been cherry-picking. They have also done a number of upscaled KOs of IF items including Ultra Magnus, Shockwave, Sixshot, and Overlord.

For a good reference on all of the 3P Legends scale madness (original and KOs) check out this thread 3rd Party Legends Master Thread
