I'm getting pretty close to just telling my MP collection to F off and just go all in on IF stuff.

While I still get tempted by some MP or "MP" toys, I do agree. For me, I can equate it to violin players (I know, but bear with me): Masterpiece toys are like the really, really technically proficient and classically trained players that have impossibly perfect timing and never miss a single note. Impressive for sure. Clean.

Non-Masterpiece toys, such as legends scale and, well, everything else that puts fun and artistic design over cartoon accuracy - those toys are like the guys playing fiddle at Renaissance faires. A little scrappy, instruments a little rough around the edges compared to orchestral equipment, playing mixes of traditional tunes but also their own compositions and filled with character. A vitality, life, a smirk, a sense of fun and who the hell cares if he's a little drunk?

There's a place for both, even in my own heart, but I usually want the guy with the twinkle in his eye rather than the one with the look of sober concentration.

    I'll shaddup now.

Will keep an eye on this. I like my legends scale stuff more G1-y than Iron Factory usually goes, but Jetfire's one of those characters that generally works for me regardless of aesthetic.

This doesn't really give me Jetfire vibe, at least not G1. Were they going for a G1 look or is this an IDW thing? Maybe paint will help.

Iron Factory seems focused on an IDW-inspired aesthetic, not specifically G1.

In the SGC thread one of this guy's pictures shows his card saying he's EX-30, if you want to update the thread title:

It's Iron Factory so probably not geewun. It'll be IDW/Dreamwaveish.

"If only this could be "MP" scale..." "Will wait for the eventual OS KO trash..."

Had to say it before someone else did.

Anyways, we need more Legends scale Jetfire, hopefully DX9 Or MechFans or that other new company ;)

Actually, i wish DX-9 was doing 3rd party "Robotech" (watch the critics hammer me) in legends scale

Why not both? You can have Selected Shelves just for MP (you have to be selective as in what you really want most and just stick to that, and that may mean selling / donating some of the existing ones), and keep a shelf or two (or whatever is appropriate) for Legends scale. One Billy Bookcase can allow many interesting collections. I personally find all these scales get stale by themselves (or faster), and the diversity in different collections brings the life and joy and being happy to come back to looking at them more often. That said, there is a joy in having many different characters in much smaller space (as long as each is well placed and loved).

    Warning: controversial opinion time

3P is kicking HasTak's ass in the Legends scale, and to a certain extent, Classics as well. As an MP collector, I've reached a point where I feel 3P MP is no longer necessary (apart from KOs) because Takara is tackling everything (albeit slowly) with excellent results.

I know some people will disagree heartily with this, but every character that was attempted by 3P was recreated even better by Takara. Legends scale does need 3P, because official Legends scale mostly sucks.

Basically I don't feel like we need 3P MP any more. The official offerings are decent enough, and the market has become unnecessarily saturated.
