I'm actually excited for the new designs. I hope it's not a complete departure from the Cybertronian modes but honestly I don't mind as long as they keep the IDW aesthetic.

Yep. The more I stare at it the more I'm amazed that they've taken what is basically a similar looking alt mode and fit two different transformation schemes onto it.

Seems like iron factory is upping it's game, no more simple, barely-there transformations that sacrifice alt for bot mode!

I'm in. My first third party legends.

A question or two. How tall will these be?
Are they really legends or more like scouts? How would these size up to Fansproject menasor? Cause I might get some of those if they can be used to fight my RACING BROS.

Points to IF for more carbots. I want those. Wish DX9 would show some carbots. I may have to get these and track down the Datson Bros/Tactical Team.

If they are going with an average size for them, these should be about 3.5-4inches tall.

Do it! The Datsuns are great imo, I have a lot of fun with them. A bit of partsforming but I never found it too bad.

its incredible how Sideswipe looks like MP SW. Im just not sold on the eyes.
Last week I would have betted... well anyways I would have wagered my azure IF Ultramagnus that they would have used Spotlight designs for SW (As most IF designs are taken from that era of IDW) where he has a WarWithin cybertronian mode. U know that arc where hes under Hounds command and end up toasting Straxus..
Honestly I don't mind, I think that they used the designs from MTMTE 1 which is when Sideswipe was drawn by .. none other than Roche!
Still is it MP design or Roches interpretation? From the face, which is g2 SW inspired I'd go for Roche.

Not sure about Sunstreaker, similarly I would have expected the designs from machination [IMG] which they used for their SCorpnok. Which design is this? don't think its Roche's/Milne's design for MTMTE but I might be wrong.[IMG]
    or maybe DW

Looks more DW than anything. Still, I wouldn't mind "original" designs as long as they look like decent representations of the characters. I love them because they are Iron Factory!

I'm just doing the usual motions catatonic-ally.. IF always used IDW character designs so far (even the DW dynobots featured as such in spotlight shockwave) bla bla bla and more bla and some etc etc... BLABLALBLA BLA!

    BLAAAA!

This might be a little off topic but this is part of my area of expertise (within the TF hobby at least) and while I too think they have some similarities with Ejs designs there are a few differences too (especially in Swipe).
In the early IDW (-ation series) Sun and Swipe have different alt. modes (Lambourgini Diablo and Murcielago) but they have have the same transformation.

    EJs SS SW.jpg

This is only one of many small reversals compared to G1 that IDW like to do.

In All hail Megatron the twins (like many others) got bodies based on toys.

    classics SW SS.jpg

Which is the same design Susha posted: (even if it have G2 colors for some reason)

It looks to me Sun is mostly a new design while Swipe resembles the current RID IDW comics (wich is pretty G1 anyway).

And to get back on topic, I'm buying both of these (probably sold together).

It occurs to me that the basic scheme for Sideswipe would also make an excellent Hot Rod... just needs a nice big yellow spoiler to flip up on the back and some other tweaks to the design.

Thats an idea I could get behind. The mold looks so good I hope they do go against type and redo the hell out of it.

Cannot wait for these to go up.

Hot Rod would be cool; he's a big hole in my legends shelves. Plus I think he's the last major character from Maximum Dinobots yet to be released by the company. I've been racking my brain to think who they could remold Sunstreaker into though. Maybe Downshift? Too bad he's not a headmaster IF could have released a three or four pack of evil repaints.
