I don't have an Ipod Touch, but I do have the iPhone and I'm in love with the thing. Watching movies while on a plane is a VERY good thing!
I would personally hold off until next year. My wife wants one of these, but I said wait until the storage capacity is on par with what she currently has (30 gig iPod). You know it will be more space for less money as soon as you buy it. On that note... can you just go and buy one, so the rest of us can get it cheaper?
If they come out with a larger memory size the price will be increased. Flash based memory is still expensive. Sure it's nice to know that if you happen to slip and drop your Ipod now, it won't destroy the internal hard drive. However the disk space is limited. I'm actually thinking about picking up an Itouch but will end up waiting until next year. My 30 gig video serves me fine. To anyone who has an Itouch or Iphone: When you shuffle your songs, is there a button to push to skip the song? What I mean is say I'm driving my car and I just don't feel like listening to a song, can I just click a button without diverting my eyes to much off the road? That's my only concern with getting a touch right now.
That's why, like I mentioned before, they should include a sdhc slot. Leave it up to the consumer to expand. Problem solved.
Wow. No Stan Bush references. As someone unimpressed by iPods thus far, I say wait. You're happy with what you have, so at least hold off till someone has a sale (we ended up getting my sister's for like nothing because of a sale)
Nothing against you. Everything against AT&T's billing department. You bring up AT&T and Viv will go on a tirade about how they suck. She was with AT&T, had their billing department screw her over a payment that wasn't late, switched to Cingular, only to have AT&T buy out Cingular. I've been with Sprint since the first day I got a cell phone back in college.
ah. actually, cingular bought out AT&T. they just decided that AT&T was a better name as it has a lot more recognition power than the name cingular does. the real AT&T is gone. Its alll SBC.
I don't know about the iPod Touch, but on the iPhone headset, where the microphone is, you can press that once to answer or hang up a call, as well as to pause the music, and then press twice it will advance to the next song.
If you were to load the Touch up with just, say, 1 hour 30 minute movies, how many could it hold? How many if it were just 4 minute videos?
I was able to fit 9 episodes of Journeyman and still have over 2 gigs in Music in my iPhone, so for a 16 gig Touch you can easily double that.
ATT does in fact suck. We use them at work for our smart phones and their customer service is simply terrible. I tried to activate a phone for a user who ported their own cell number over and I was transferred literally 7 times.
It's a week from Christmas, and I have a few ?s -Can anyone point me in the direction of a converting program so that I can some DVD movies on it? I don't think I can just play directly from DVD to iTunes -Is there a non-bulky cover for the back out there? I don't want to scratch up the mirror-y surface -Can anyone confirm the scratch resistance of the screen? TY in advance for answers
1. No idea about the DVD formatting. 2. The one cover I am interested when I get an iPod Touch is bulky, unfortunately. It's the translucent plastic one that covers everything but the screen. 3. The scratch resistance screen is legit. It's glass. So while it's scratch resistant, I'd say it's not shatter resistant if you drop it. I was at an Apple store and tried to scratch the screen. No such luck. I tried with my keys. All of them. And no scratching.
Sorry for the bump, but I have some more ?s- -What is the outer rim made of? The blackish area that covers the screen I was being a fucktard and scratched it up, now it's really annoying, is there a scratch remover that'll treat it? -What's the little led near the top on the front area for? You can't really see it well, the 3rd party cases have a cutout for it
