I hate you for your somewhat misleading thread title.

if anyone here works for a studio that has done this can you tell me one thing? when a studio re runs a show for no aparent reason, dose it mean they are trying to get ratings for a new episode return, i mean, twice in one year? there has to be more of a reason than just pepole asking for a return, that happens with so many shows all the time that dosent work

Wow. Do we really need a new thread for every time Nick reruns this show? :p

For a show like Zim it usually means they have a time slot they need to fill. Zim was produced by Nickelodeon so they don't have to pay to air it like they would a syndicated show. For them it's a cheap way to fill dead air.

What Shimabura said, and while I haven't worked in a studio (*cough*yet*cough*), a book I read about The Simpsons talked about Fox selling the right to play reruns for some extra cash.

i heard a rumor that the show's creator didn't want to do it anymore (hence it's cancellation) and i get the idea that if he lost interest, NO AMOUNT of cash or prodding by a studio will ever get him off his duff to do it.

(gee, a steady paycheck would motivate me to keep working on such a great project- but i am "stoopid" that way.)

i wanna be impressed by Nick.
run a YCDTOT marathon or something.

they did have like 5 scripts and voice recordings and an allmost fineshed episode intruducing minimoose. they could run one of those FINAL 5 or whatever marathons and end the show with 10 minutes to dooms alternate ending with zim dieing

"Almost finished" means that the episode was in storyboards but never went overseas for animation. To finish any of those episodes would cost more time and money than Nickelodeon is willing to spend, especially for a dead show. Zim's target demographic loves the show, but outside of it no one really cares. A buddy of mine is a manager at the local Hot Topic and he says that there's still Zim shit on the shelves he can't sell. The show never produced much revenue, and we're lucky to get the two seasons that we did.
