I'd speculate that the vast majority of "Funeral for a Friend" and "Reign of the Supermen" is going to end up removed/altered for this movie. "Funeral" had a lot of pointless Cadmus nonsense and running around that could easily be cut and probably not miss much (IMO, the important parts of "Funeral for a Friend" could be boiled down to about 10 minutes). To work much of "Reign" in, the film would need time to set up origins for Superboy, Eradicator and the Cyborg (granted, STAS had a one-shot character who could have stood in for Cyborg), which would chew up a hell of a lot of screen time. Even though Steel is already established, the article mentions that Supergirl won't be in it, so I can't imagine Steel getting an appearance over her. They could still work in the alien attack, since Mongul's already been established as a character in Justice League, but I can't imagine Coast City's going to end up destroyed or anything that drastic.

I think The Batman is the best cartoon on TV right now.

I rejected it at first, but then grew to like it -a lot.

While I think the original Batman: TAS was better over all, the episode of The Batman, A Matter of Family, with Robin's origin was the greatest Batman cartoon ever made.

Plus, Duane was part of Batman: TAS, Superman, Justice League, and Teen Titans.

Exactly. That's what made Doomsday so awesomly terrifying. He broke the unbreakable.

I'm also wary of cramming everything into such a short time. The Reign of the Supermen is one of my fave DC stories and I'd hate to see it get butchered.

Except that Steel is not established -nor is Kara. Not in this movie.
This is a whole new continuity.

I hope the DVD releases do have crossover continuity among themselves.

He was also a writer/producer for Big Guy and Rusty, The MiB animated series, Extreme Ghostbusters, Alladin, Darkwing Duck, and Talespin. All series I loved. So no, let's not look at what I consider a 'fluke' series (Which I hear gets better in any case)

I need to recant my line about him being a part of the original DC Animated Universe. For some reason, I had my wires crossed with Dwayne McDuffy. I apologize for misleading anyone.

And personally, I don't understand the hate towards The Batman.
The animation is awesome. The story line ranges from good to great.
At the beginning of the series, Batman is always chased by the police and you get to see him gradually earn their respect.

So he can jump about 10 feet under his own power.
So he didn't create The Joker.
So all of his rivals can physically fight back.

It is a great show. Its not as great as the original animated series, but what is?

If one wants to complain about a Duane Capizzi project then pick on Superman: Braniac Attacks. And, honestly, that one is good too. The only problem I had with it was the choice to use the original character designs, have Tim Daly reprise his role, yet ask the viewer to accept that this is a new continuity.

At least Doomsday is not following those same errors.

Heart of Ice is fantastic, but personally, I think A Matter of Family is better.

A few months ago I watched Heart of Ice and then Subzero back to back.
They were telling some great stories back then.

I generally have faith Bruce Timm, but some of this I'm hearing on at least this first movie isn't giving a great impression. DC telling him Superman can't get bloody is certainly pretty shitty too.

"The big guy, he's the real deal!
Heart of gold, and fists of steel!
Clobbering evil entities, with Rusty at his heel!"

    Now they're, a might team!
    Boy robot, lives his dream,
To be a legend in history, the Big Guy and Rusty!"

I loved that show if just for the opening theme.
