I like how Its Animated Blurr's Alt mode that transforms into G1 Blurr robot mode.

It LOOKS good, but there's a ton of errors, and what was the point of including all those characters who don't have real-world alt-modes in an image about the real-world basis for the transformations? Ditto for the transformers with generic or "semi-referential" alt-modes.

    VVVVVVVVV
I counted those as "errors", but yeah, there's way too many of those. It be trollin, perhaps?

^ Not to mention Hound going from Earth jeep to his IDW Cybertronian robot mode, and Goldbug's robot mode being a fan drawing for some variety of Bumblebee Prime (pretty sure someone on here uses the head for an avatar).

I was just about to post this. Yow, there are so many mistakes...so...many...mistakes..... An d I like how the whole point of this is to show what "real world" vehicles the TFs were, but many of the times the writer resports to "truck" or "car." Wow, really?

Oh, and apparently Punch turned into a Fiero (correct) but Counterpunch turned into a Lamborgini Diablo. What's that? Did I hear the conch-call of the Editor-signal!? I must be off!!!

    Jazz, a Porsche 911? Wrong. That'd be a 935.

Wow, they really didn't even try.

Actually Goldbug was drawn by Joe Ng and published in Dreamwave's More Than Meets the Eye profile books. Yes, that's an official rendition of G1 Goldbug. (And his vehicle mode was drawn as an actual VW Beetle in that profile. Yikes. What the hell, Joe?)

Also, Gears and Outback were Landrover-ish things with a Jeep grille. Yeah, they did that back in the day, too.

Generally, there's such a random mix of Dreamwave art, IDW art, Marvel art, photos of cars, photoshopped cars, CG reditions of cars... The whole thing reeks of lazy.

Grapple is just Hasbro's stock photos of the upcoming Reveal the Shield Solar Storm Grappel toy!

Also, Deceptijohn, if the only reason you find this "interesting" is because "someone tried to identify the alternate modes", fans have been doing that for years, and the whole information is pretty much available on the Transformers Wiki, only more accurate and up to date.

Oh, okay. Haven't read the MTMTE books, so thanks for the clarification. Now I know!

Yeah but Hasbro pays Bay A LOT of money to get it right. This poor schmuck probably had his "good boy, nice story" doughnut taken away when people started writing to complain.

Simply put, the art in the MTMTE books was almost as bad as this thing in itself. The profiles use a wide variety of different artists, and the results range from "G1 cartoon accurate" to "toy-accurate" to "real-life vehicle accurate" to "Pat Lee marshmellow bots" to "What the hell is THAT supposed to be?" The one title where a "house style" would have actually made sense, it was not applied.

And then IDW's Beast Wars Sourcebooks one-upped them in pretty much every regard whatsoever...

Good gravy, have there been any competent profile books (besides the Allspark Almanacs, that is)?
