I remember seeing a thread on here a while ago about insuring one's collection, and apparently my fiancee wanted me to gather more information on that. Currently, we have about 220+ Transformers (not to mention other action figures, and my game/console and DVD collections), and according to Shmax, that's worth somewhere in the $1000-$2000 range, though a lot of stuff still has no values on their site.

I know someone mentioned that getting 'collectible' insurance was a bad way to go, but I just wanted to get the quick and dirty 411 on what I need to know before actually getting on it to insure our collection.
