This I think is the inspiration for bulkhead? From g1 War Dawn episode.

Yeah, he does make a good Omega Sentinel/Omega Supreme homage (could make for an interesting kitbash).

... Now that you mentioned it, both got the three-claw arms, are fat-looking and got back-panels.

I think Bulkhead is a mix of that...whatever-it-is you posted (body design), Cyb Crumplezone (head design) and Hound (colour scheme - he's even got the stars!).

Funnily enough, Bulkhead is voiced by Bill Fagerbakke who does the voice over for Patrick (Spongebob Squarepants).

    Ebay:
A bit of G1 Hound with a Cybertron Crumplezone twist. Obvious, look at his mouth.

The "thing" posted above was a Guardian Robot (missing it's head), much akin to G1 Omega Supreme...
This pic's also from War Dawn...

It's interesting, since the first images we see from the Animated cartoon were of a couple of Guardians in the 'history vids'... I can see a resemblence, and a big, hulking thing such as bulkhead would make as a nice homage to Omega (and his colorscheme to that of Hound)

Hell, come to think of it:

5 characters, learning about the new world they're living in. Fighting foes new and old. Prowl and Brooklyn even share the same voice actor, same as Broadway and Bulkhead. You have the newer leader, the grizzled vet. Man, can't believe I didn't see this sooner. Lockdown can even= Macbeth. Granted there are far more differences between the shows, and once the Decepticons make a larger impact then TF:A should come into it's own. Still, it's still a huge coincidence how similar it can seem.

Wow...the similarities to Gargoyles are pretty amazing, even down to each character's personality and body type/design.

Yeah, it's one of those things that as soon as I thought Bulkhead=Broadway everything else just clicked. Then "boom" I got it, that feeling about TFA that's been bugging me made perfect sense.

I was under the impression that Bulkhead was inspired by Crunch of Mighty Orbots.

I thought he was based on every "Fat Guy" from every team ever, be it G-Force, Voltron, Orbots, or whatever.

Bulkhead is the lovable tub with a heart of gold!
