y'now what i've noticed lately, i think prime breakdown is modeled, somewhat, after armada demolisher. the overall body build, the spikes on his shoulders, and with his new eye patch it all comes together, huh

 

True! and his overly loyal personality to Megatron aswell

 

But Breakdown isn't overly loyal to Megatron. He's just on his side.

 

well he seems willing and eager to make up for mistakes and please him

 

Only out of fear, oppose to Soundwave for example who blindly follows his commands for the sole purpose of following them.

 

Demolishor could be an inspiration for Breakdown. Though I think it's more coincidence than purposeful. I think the main reasoning behind Breakdowns design is that they wanted to create a rival for Bulkhead, and someone with the same size and bulk was necessary for such a role.

 

While Soundwave doesn't have any visible eyes, I wouldn't say he "blindly" follows Megatron. He's been at Megs' side since beginning, likely that he agrees with the ideologies that Megatron had been speaking about.
