I haven't been able to sleep well all week. I was tired all day on Sunday and hit the rack at around 8. No luck. Tossing and turning till around 3 and got up around 5ish. same story last night. and its looking to be the same tonight. Just wondering if anyone else has or had trouble sleeping and if anyone has any remedies. And I know chew some valerian root and get more exercise. Oh off subject anyone see Venus and Jupiter? Phenomenal.

Or pick up some of the books in the "Worst book you've ever read" thread. Fellowship of the Ring should have you snoozing in about 30 minutes.

I have times where I can't sleep. I usually drink some beer and/or wine with some Tylenol PM. I'm told you're not supposed to mix alcohol with medication but it works for me.

I have pretty bad insomnia. Generally having a movie playing puts me to sleep, but on nights (luckily only two a week) that I have to work the next day I take some form of sleep aid. Pain relief PMs work fairly well but they also sell just sleep aids that will help you fall asleep and ones that will help you stay asleep. My body tends to grow accustomed to them after a few weeks so I have to switch around brands. I wouldn't recomend them as a normal thing though. You generally need to eat with them for them to be effective, I usually have a bowl of cereal. They can leave you groggy the next morning as well so I tend to take them 9-10 hours before I have to be up the next day to avoid that.

Temperature is a big thing to me. I need to be cool to sleep so I keep my heat at 68 and if I'm to hot I'll take a progressivley cold shower to lower my body temperature.

My mind tends to just race when I lay down, I can be exhausted all day but as soon as I get to bed I'm wide awake thinking of everything I could be doing.

I'm going through the same thing right now, I haven't had a decent night's sleep in over a month, then again, I'm under a ton of stress right now.

I used to have it pretty bad years ago, but now I just have occasional bouts with it. It's usually stress-related when it occurs now.

Tylenol PM works for me, but I'm told you should avoid taking it regularly. When I do feel like I need to take one, I cut the pill in half because I tend to oversleep if I take a whole one.

I got some Loritab prescribed when I had appendix surgery earlier this year. Great stuff. Knocked me out for like 10 hours straight.

You might also consider cutting back on your caffeine intake, or cut it out of your diet altogether. I've noticed if I have a Coke between 8-9pm, it ends up that I'm not able to fall asleep until after 2am, and even when I do finally fall asleep I don't sleep well and I wake up not feeling rested.

I had the same problem. I took some sleeping pills at a decent time andi feel fine the next day. I took them about 4 days in a row to regulate my sleeping pattern and it worked.

I'm a little stressed right now myself. Going back to classes to finish my bachelor's. Got finals next week and one on the following Monday. Also got assignments to finish for another class for this Monday as well as tests on Friday and Monday.

Last night i got no sleep. luckily I'm not missing anything in class today and can spend it catching up. Tonight though I'm going to take two sleeping pills to get a good nights sleep and repeat till finals are over. I tried to take a nap but I'm stressed out and tossed and turned the entire time. gave up, relaxed for a bit to try to calm down. checking posts for a few minutes then it is time to get crap done.

I fall asleep all right but there are times I wake up between 4 and 5 am. Today and yesterday, for example. I don't need to be up until 7. :mad

I'd say do some sort of manual labor every day to expend some energy.

Wow..I see I'm not the only one with this problem.

I haven't been able to sleep right for the last couple weeks. The only sleep I get anymore is from the after work nap. I've just been really, really stressed for awhile. Between the holiday rush at work and problems at home...I feel like I have no peace except when I'm alone. Which is why I've also been kinda reclusive too. :/

I've been thinking about taking a sleep aid, since something about NyQull makes me feel ill.

Why does it seem like life's bullshit waits till the holidays to hit the fan?

I sleep really well... and too much really. So just follow my lifestyle.

    Don't get up before noon.
Watch more porn than you ever thought possible.
    Have a high fibre diet.
Surf the top 1000 images on DeviantArt every day without fail.
And most important of all, poke fun at Razerwire at every opportunity yet secretly envy him because his wife is awesome to him.
